How to Apply Custom Tattoos From the Gallery in The Sims 4

In The Sims 4, the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack brought about the Tattooing Skill. This skill harmoniously complements the capacity to run Small Businesses, as players who have perfected it can create stunning tattoos for customers, earning them a considerable amount of Simoleons in return.

One new feature related to body art that was introduced in The Sims 4 with the Businesses and Hobbies expansion is the ability to create personalized tattoos. Using Paint Mode and layering options, players can concoct a multitude of tattoo designs and make these creations available to others via the game’s gallery. This tutorial will walk players through the steps for saving, downloading, and applying custom tattoos in The Sims 4.

How to Save Custom Tattoos in The Sims 4

Players who wish to preserve a tattoo they’ve designed within The Sims 4 can do so by clicking on the “Save Tattoo” button, which appears as a Cloud icon located beneath the Layer settings while customizing their Sims.

In the upcoming menu, users can press the arrow key on the right side to store their tattoo design, while they can tap the cloud icon on the left to upload it to the gallery.

How to Download Custom Tattoos in The Sims 4

With the “The Sims 4” gallery, players worldwide can freely exchange their creative builds and families with the broader community. Additionally, due to the introduction of the Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack, users are now able to swap and obtain tattoos from the gallery as well.

As a dedicated Sims 4 player, I’d be happy to share how I navigate the gallery for custom tattoos. Firstly, I head over to the Category selection area on the left side of the screen. Here, I specifically look for and select “Tattoos”. This magic trick narrows down the gallery to only display tattoos. To refine my search even more, I jot down my ideas or concepts in the search bar. This way, I can find tattoos that perfectly match what I’m looking for!

After locating a tattoo design they prefer, players can choose to instantly apply it or opt for the ‘Heart’ or ‘Download’ feature to preserve it for future use.

How to Apply a Saved Custom Tattoo in The Sims 4

Should players decide to keep or digitally store the tattoos they’ve created or acquired, they have the freedom to apply those designs on their Sims whenever they wish.

To use a previously saved custom tattoo in The Sims 4, players need to open the Create-a-Sim mode, hit the Gallery button, choose the My Library tab, and select the desired tattoo. After that, they just need to click the “Apply Tattoo” option located at the bottom right corner of the screen, and it will appear on their Sim’s body.

In The Sims 4, if a player wishes to alter their character’s tattoo, they can head over to a Tattoo Parlor and ask for a tattoo removal service instead.
