The most rewarding part is setting up a fully automated factory that handles everything – extracting raw materials, processing them, and sending the finished products off-world. Automating everything can be complex, though, with many details to manage. This guide will show you how to automate ore extraction in StarRupture.
How To Automate Ore Extraction In StarRupture
To begin automatically collecting resources, carefully choose where to build your Base Core. Don’t just place it anywhere! Focus on areas with plenty of Wolfram, Titanium, and Calcium. You’ll also need a lot of power, as automation uses a significant amount of energy. Building several Solar Generators is a good way to start, and you can add more as your needs grow.
The goal is to create a system that automatically mines raw materials, processes them, and delivers the finished goods to the Orbital Cargo Launcher for shipment to companies.
To automatically collect Wolfram, Titanium, and Calcium, build Ore Excavators directly over rich deposits of these resources. Then, send the mined materials to a Smelter to create bars and blocks. You’ll need to connect the Ore Excavator and Smelter with Rails to transport everything.
If a path is blocked between your machines, simply add as many Rail Supports as necessary to create a connection. You can also link several Ore Excavators to a Smelter using Rail Connectors, which will automatically process ores into bars and blocks.
Initially, the Smelter will be the final machine in your setup before launching materials – typically Titanium and Wolfram Bars – into orbit. From there, things become more complex, requiring additional rails to connect the Smelter to other essential machines like the Fabricator and the Furnace.
To produce Titanium Sheets for launch with the Orbital Cargo Launcher, you’ll need to connect a Smelter to a Fabricator. The Smelter creates Titanium Bars, which are then moved by Rails to the Fabricator. The Fabricator then turns these bars into Titanium Sheets, and finally, connecting the Fabricator to the Orbital Cargo Launcher will automatically send the sheets to your corporations.
