Ator, a powerful boss in Crimson Desert, is a tough opponent. He has incredibly high defense, making it feel like your attacks aren’t effective, but his attacks can instantly defeat Kliff. This is typical for a hidden endgame boss, which you’ll find after unlocking the Cloister of Ruination in Crimson Desert.
To successfully defeat Ator, Archon of Antumbra, make sure you’re well-stocked with food and Instant Revive items. A strong build for Kliff is also essential, allowing him to deal significant damage while withstanding Ator’s attacks. This guide provides a breakdown of Ator’s abilities and strategies for beating him in Crimson Desert.
How To Beat Ator In Crimson Desert
The Ator boss, also known as the Archon of Antumbra, requires a lot of patience. While Ator’s attacks are predictable and don’t vary during the fight, their defense is extremely strong. Because you’ll be attacking for a while, it’s important to learn and anticipate their moves.
Besides his regular attacks, Ator occasionally summons a golden hammer and lifts it up. This signals that he’s about to jump, flip, and then attack the area you’re standing in. Watch for him to flip in the air, and quickly dodge as he comes down.
Pay close attention to the glowing orbs around Ator, because he throws them at you with most of his attacks. When an orb starts to glow, it’s about to hit you soon. Each orb counts as a full attack, so blocking them drains a lot of stamina. It’s best to dodge Ator’s orbs whenever possible.
It’s usually easy to anticipate Ator’s attacks by watching how they move. But they’ll sometimes mix in powerful strikes followed by quick attacks with their hammer and orb, which can be a lot to handle. When you see Ator raise their hammer, try to move behind them. Also, be careful not to stand where the hammer lands, as it creates a damaging area that stays active for a while.
Like other major battles in Crimson Desert, Ator has a powerful ultimate attack that makes him temporarily invulnerable to physical attacks. He begins this attack by launching a series of fast-moving orbs, then slams his hammer into the ground.
The arena will become very dark, making it difficult to see Ator and anticipate his attacks. During this brief period, concentrate on the glowing hammer and steer clear of where it’s going to land. He’ll repeatedly slam the hammer down three or four times before pausing. Avoid attacking during this sequence; instead, just focus on dodging and blocking. Also, don’t rely too much on your shield, as even a single hit from the hammer can severely deplete Kliff’s stamina.
To avoid Ator’s attacks during his ultimate phase, position yourself behind him. Use his hammer as a visual guide to see where he is, then roll to get behind him. Stay calm and keep rolling if needed – his hammer has a large range and can hit Kliff anywhere in the arena.
To maximize damage, try to land a complete attack combo whenever you have an opening. The final hit of any combo – whether using quick, powerful, or Force Punches – will significantly build up Ator’s stun meter. This creates an opportunity for Kliff to follow up with a powerful attack that deals substantial damage to the boss.
