How to Beat Belphomet Within 2 Minutes in Shape of Dreams

In Shape of Dreams, Mist has special abilities you can unlock. Unlocking the abilities for her main actions is pretty straightforward, but getting the upgrade for her passive ability is a real challenge. To earn Astrid’s Masterpiece – Priorite, players must defeat the first boss within two minutes of starting a new game, which requires a combination of skill, careful planning, and a little bit of luck.

This challenge is more demanding than others for *Shape of Dreams* characters, but if you enjoy playing Mist, earning this second ability will be a great reward. This guide will share a few helpful strategies to help you unlock it.

Shape of Dreams: Thorny Vines Between the Rocks Achievement Guide

Best Build to Get Mist’s Second Passive

To start, you’ll need to unlock the Fleche and Parry skills, which are Mist’s other locked abilities. While getting to the first boss’ arena in under two minutes might seem difficult, it’s achievable with the right preparation, leaving you with ample time to focus on the fight itself.

As a big fan of *Shape of Dreams*, I’ve learned this awesome trick with Mist! If you time it right, using Fleche after one of her basic attacks, *before* the animation finishes, actually resets her attack counter. This means you can get three hits in super fast! Seriously, it’s a must-know for any *Shape of Dreams* player, and it’s especially helpful when playing characters like Shell.

We recommend using Parry instead of Unbreakable Determination because its cooldown is much shorter. It’s especially effective against tougher enemies and during the fight with the first boss, Belphomet. Just make sure to time it correctly, or you might lose some valuable time.

You’ll also want the following Constellation Stars on Mist:

  • Astrid’s Smithing (Unique Mist Destruction Star): Increases Attack Damage
  • Aggressive Stance (Destruction): Increases Attack Damage
  • Burning Bloodlust (Destruction): Increases Attack Damage until you complete the first two worlds
  • Intersecting Memories (Imagination): Gain a random Memory at the start of a run

Collecting lots of offensive passive abilities is helpful, but we’ve discovered that even just a few are enough to earn the achievement.

To speed things up, avoid rewards with long animations, but quick stops at Altars of Doom and Wells are okay. Choose short routes on the map, ideally ones with merchants nearby. And most importantly, play on the easiest difficulty setting. If you can, use the Lucid Dream ability, which makes everyone take double damage – this will help you clear levels even faster.

The Deja Vu Strategy

The Deja Vu feature becomes available in the main menu once you’ve earned a total of 50 Traveler ranks. It allows you to begin a new run with any Memories or Essences you’ve already unlocked. You unlock these by finishing runs with them equipped, or by completing specific challenges.

In this challenge, you’ll want to obtain the Essence of the Vortex. It’s an attachment for any Memory that simply shoots fireballs at enemies. Don’t underestimate it – this Essence can be surprisingly strong early in the game, particularly if you find a really good one.

To get the best quality items, use the Constellation Stars we talked about earlier, and also add the Beginner’s Luck passive skill. This will significantly boost the quality of your first equipped Essence by 130%. When you start a run, grab your Essence and head straight for the boss.

Some players might not be able to try this strategy right away because it requires reaching a total of 50 Traveler ranks, making it inaccessible to beginners. Importantly, you don’t need to level up just one *Shape of Dreams* character – as long as all your characters collectively reach 50 Traveler ranks, the Deja Vu option will become available.

Astrid’s Masterpiece periodically ‘marks’ enemies every 5.4 seconds. Hitting a marked enemy does extra damage and briefly speeds up your attacks. The more you hit a marked enemy in a row, the more damage you deal, and after six hits, the mark explodes for even more damage.
