In this battle, it would be beneficial to use the Fire Vessel from Chapter 1 if you still have it, as it makes Quick as Fire’s flaming pools harmless and offers fire resistance. This tool is quite useful in Chapter 5 as well. Additionally, equip Immobilize for help in pinning down the boss, creating chances to attack more easily. (It’s particularly effective when combined with the Relic upgrade that lets Immobilize freeze multiple targets.)

Boss Moveset

Phase 1

In the initial stages, Fire-Quick will initiate combat by charging towards you while emitting flames that create scorched spots on the ground wherever he moves. Wearing the Fireproof Mantle makes these flames harmless, but direct contact with him when he rolls or breathes fire can still cause damage. It is advisable to attack from either above or below his head whenever he comes to a halt. If you stand in front of his face, he will exhale fire at you, emitting it as a continuous line.

In the arena, Quickfire zips about at high speed, and Fastwind employs two distinct attack strategies. To generate temporary whirlwinds, he expels a gust of wind onto the ground; when you notice one forming, dart to the side and keep your distance until it dissipates. He additionally exhales a cone of wind as he glides across the ground, which can both stun you multiple times and inflict damage if it strikes. To dodge this attack, move to the side as he approaches rather than risk being stun-locked. You can also evade it by quickly moving through it just before impact, but only if your timing is impeccable.

Following a brief interval, Fire-Swift will call for a pause, which triggers Wind-Swift to dash to one edge of the battlefield and absorb any fire present on the ground. Soon after, he’ll commence emitting a broad jet of flames as he moves forward across the arena. To evade this, swiftly move to the side or utilize Pillar Stance’s heavy attack to leap above the flames. It’s also possible to dodge through the flames if your timing is impeccable. Once Fire-Swift has covered the entire battlefield, he’ll collapse, providing an opportunity for you to inflict damage while he’s vulnerable.

Phase 2

In Phase 2, one of the two bosses needs to be defeated first. The surviving boss will grow more hostile, and Fast as Wind will acquire a new attack. Fast as Wind will swoop down towards the Chosen One, making it wise to dodge when he’s about to get too close. If you have enough mana and good reflexes, you can dodge and then freeze him temporarily, leaving him vulnerable for counterattacks.
