How to Beat Flesh Lip in Silent hill 2 Remake

As a die-hard Silent Hill fan with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the Silent Hill 2 Remake is a triumphant return to one of my all-time favorite horror franchises. The updated graphics and revamped mechanics have only added to the chilling atmosphere that made the original game so terrifyingly captivating.

In the brand-new version of “Silent Hill 2,” the classic game from 2001 is reimagined, boasting enhanced graphics, additional explorable areas, and modernized combat systems. One of the initial bosses you’ll encounter in this remake is Flesh Lip, a recurring adversary from the original game who now features new and tougher strategies for players to master. Both novice and experienced “Silent Hill” enthusiasts will need to adapt to counter Flesh Lip’s erratic attacks effectively and ultimately defeat it once and for all.

Where To Find Flesh Lip In Silent Hill 2 Remake

Just as in the original, James Sunderland meets Flesh Lip at the termination point of Brookhaven Hospital. Eventually, you’ll find yourself face to face with Laura on the uppermost level, which triggers a cutscene featuring an argument between her and James concerning Mary.

After a fierce disagreement, Laura confines James to a hospital room, during which an additional scene unfolds. Suspended from the ceiling, Flesh Lip – a grotesque creature as its title suggests, characterized by its fleshy form, human-like limbs, and distinct pair of lips – is released from a metal cage.

Before encountering Flesh Lip, ensure you’ve completely investigated Brookhaven Hospital and saved your progress, because once you’re done with it, you won’t get a chance to revisit the hospital as it is now.

Instead of the initial version, Flesh Lip boasts greater strength and offers a wide array of attacks. Similar to certain bosses in the Silent Hill 2 Remake, this battle is split into two distinct phases. During the first phase, Flesh Lip is trapped within its enclosure, restricting its mobility and attack range. Once this confinement is breached, Flesh Lip escapes and progresses to the second phase, gaining additional arms and new abilities.

Phase One

As a fan, I found myself on edge during the initial skirmish between the two combatants. Flesh Lip primarily hovered near the ceiling, occasionally breaking through unexpectedly to catch James off guard. To dodge Flesh Lip’s enclosure and prevent being squashed, it’s crucial to stay nimble and keep a keen eye on the ceiling. When the tiles start shaking, that’s usually a warning they’re about to give way, so swiftly changing position is key to avoiding getting hit by Flesh Lip.

When the Flesh Lip is on the move, it can be challenging to attack successfully. However, for maximum efficiency, aim to strike it when its cage descends from above. Dodging shots aimed at its body while caged isn’t advisable as they will likely bounce off. Instead, concentrate on taking down its limbs or legs with your ranged weapons such as the Shotgun.

If you’re able to hit its hand, Flesh Lip will momentarily be dazed, providing you a short window to strike back using your Steel Pipe or guns. After regaining consciousness, the creature will resume its attack from the ceiling.

After hitting several blows on Flesh Lip’s enclosure, you’ll observe it gradually showing signs of fracturing. When the enclosure shatters, Flesh Lip will be liberated entirely, and its metal limbs will extend, indicating the beginning of phase two in our battle.

Instead of exhausting all your ammunition during Phase 1, hold some back for Phase 2. This is when Flesh Lip breaks free from its cage and becomes more exposed or vulnerable.

Phase Two

Exposing four limbs, the Fleshlip character now has enhanced and potent assault options. This creature is now mobile, circling James within the room. Given its capacity to inflict heavy blows with those limbs, it’s crucial to always keep a safe distance. Aim for its soft underbelly or legs, but beware of its armored torso. If Fleshlip lifts its arms, swiftly dodge sideways to avoid attack.

Flesh Lip’s extended limbs enable it to reach James from various spots across the room, making dodging the only effective way to dodge a hit. One of Flesh Lip’s aggressive moves includes rapidly spinning in place with its arms outstretched. This move can cause severe harm if James doesn’t swiftly move aside. Additionally, it might leap up to the ceiling and reposition itself, planning to drop down suddenly on James, taking him off guard and causing considerable damage. Always stay alert and keep moving to avoid injury.

In the initial stage, melee attacks could work quite well, but in the second phase, it would be better to steer clear of them entirely because Flesh Lip has become more agile and packs a punch. Instead, I’d recommend switching to your Shotgun or Handgun for ranged strikes on Flesh Lip’s vulnerable areas. If you find yourself low on ammo, consider an evasive strategy with your melee weapon, striking Flesh Lip when the opportunity arises.

Keep on assaulting Flesh Lip to deplete its life force. Although it moves swiftly and aggressively, Flesh Lip becomes vulnerable when it’s outside of its cage, making it simpler to injure it with your weapons in Silent Hill 2. After inflicting sufficient damage and vanquishing Flesh Lip, you’ll be able to exit Brookhaven Hospital and proceed on your adventure through the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
