How to Beat Guilen, The Fire Eater in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

In Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, players will uncover and traverse numerous distinct locations. One of these will be the Lava Zone, also known as the Endless Chasm. You’ll encounter this area following your victory over Chester Stoddart, the Dark-Hearted White Knight. This region is significantly tougher than the ones you’ve faced before, and it conceals a rather formidable boss within its depths.

Shortly after their second brush with Dularn, The Creeping Shadow, players will quickly meet Guilen, The Fire Eater. It’s important to note that players won’t have to re-engage in a battle against Dularn for a second time prior to this encounter with Guilen.

How to Beat Guilen, The Fire Eater in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

  • Location: Zone of Lava
  • Health: 1100 (Normal difficulty)

Invaluable combat expertise is what players will find most crucial for the upcoming battle, as there are numerous strategies they can learn, but nothing compares to firsthand experience. As the player steps into the boss’s domain, expect to encounter multiple pits. One of these holes will serve as Guilen’s launchpad, enabling him to soar around the arena during the confrontation.

In simpler terms, “Guilen, The Fire Eater,” possesses a substantial amount of health (1100) in the standard game setting. To prevail against him, it’s advisable for players to invest time in enhancing their character, Adol, using the resources they’ve gathered. This will help them avoid having their health steadily depleted throughout the battle by not taking necessary precautions.

In Guilen, there are many different sections. By attacking these segments separately, you can inflict multiple blows on him. With each strike, players will weaken Guilen, causing his overall size to diminish.

Guilen’s Attacks in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

Guilen’s attack arsenal might appear limited, but each move harmonizes exceptionally with the layout of the arena. As a flying foe boasting unique maneuverability options, this battle offers an unusual experience compared to typical encounters players may have faced. Here are some moves players need to be vigilant about:

1. Whirlwind Attack: Guilen spins rapidly in a circle, dealing damage to all nearby enemies.
2. Dive Bomb: Guilen dives from the air towards a single target, causing significant damage upon impact.
3. Sonic Boom: Guilen releases a powerful wave of sound energy that pushes back and damages all surrounding foes.
4. Aerial Strike: Guilen soars high into the sky before plummeting down to strike an opponent with great force.
5. Homing Missiles: Guilen launches a volley of missiles that home in on the nearest enemy, causing damage upon impact.

Fire Breath

As a dedicated fan, I’d like to share some insights about my favorite game boss, Guilen. His signature move is an intense blast of flames that can cause quite a bit of harm to players. To dodge this attack effectively, it’s best to keep a safe distance from his head. However, if you want to deal the most damage, focus on jumping and attacking his lower half. This strategy seems to be where the bulk of your damage output should be focused.

Dive

Guilen is going to jump into one of the surrounding pits, generating seismic waves as a result. To ensure safety, it’s wise to maintain a distance from these pits, so you don’t get caught in the aftermath of those powerful shockwaves.

Emerge

Following your descent into one of these pits, the display will quiver, and a pit within the arena will start to boil with molten lava. Keep a safe distance because Guilen will surge forth from the magma-filled pit, causing a massive shockwave.

Fire Bomb

Guilan will pause momentarily during flight and hurl something that detonates upon impact. It’s advisable to move away if Guilan should halt in mid-air, to ensure you don’t get caught up in the aftermath of this assault.

After a player eliminates all of Guilen’s parts, his head will continue to move chaotically within the arena. This head will charge straight towards players, so it’s crucial to constantly dodge and attack it from its sides. Players should remember to quickly adjust their position, as they did during their battle with Ellefale.
