As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that the remastered versions of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 have brought back some nostalgic memories. The boss fights, particularly Rahab, have been given a fresh coat of paint and improved mechanics, making them more engaging than ever.
In the remastered versions of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2, players will encounter a variety of formidable bosses. The initial set of these bosses includes Raziel’s vampiric brothers. These characters have been enhanced with stunning visuals as part of the upgrades in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered, making them more impressive than ever before.
Raziel has been systematically eliminating his fellow characters, and Melchiah was the least challenging so far. Yet, Rahab, much like Melchiah, is among the simplest battles found in this game.
Rahab Boss Fight in Soul Reaver
To get to Rahab, players must carefully traverse the late stages of the Sunken Abbey. The concluding stretch can prove more daunting and irritating than the boss fight itself. It’s simple to accidentally overshoot your location and fall from the target platform, requiring you to restart the process. A crucial detail is that if players manually save their game and then quit, they will be brought back to the start of the game. Even quick-traveling to the Sunken Abbey means navigating back through this challenging final part.
In essence, these leaps serve as practice for the upcoming boss battle. Upon entering the boss arena, you’ll find yourself navigating by jumping from one supporting structure to another. This action will transport you to the Material Plane, leading to a scene with Rahab. After the scene concludes, your objective becomes twofold: staying above water and evading Rahab’s attacks by leaping from pillar to pillar.
In order to defeat Rahab, players cannot attack him directly with damage. Instead, they must illuminate the room with sunlight. This is accomplished by focusing on one of the stained-glass windows using the aim button and then releasing a force projectile. Some players might not know this, but they can still utilize this ability even without their wraith blade. Consequently, even if Rahab manages to strike the players, they can continue firing off projectiles.
Should players tumble from a column, they’ll get drawn back into the Spectral Realm, where a spectral entity will be lurking. Defeat this wraith to replenish your vitality, and then navigate your way back up the pillars, ensuring you keep your advancement intact and seamlessly continue with the battle.
How to Easily Beat Rahab
You don’t necessarily need to gather more Artifacts for health boosts to complete this battle without leaving the initial pedestal. Instead, keep your aim fixed on the stained-glass windows in front of you and destroy them one by one. Continue this action with every window, disregarding Rahab altogether. Players can break all the windows before Rahab causes significant damage, even if multiple attempts are unsuccessful.
