How to Beat Rakshasa (Eastern Nameless Mausoleum) In Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

As a passionate Elden Ring player with countless hours spent exploring its vast open world, I can confidently say that the Nameless Mausoleums in Shadow of the Erdtree are some of the most intriguing and rewarding boss battles I’ve encountered. The introduction of new weapon types in this DLC has taken the game to a whole new level.

As a gamer, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the fresh challenges Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has brought to the table. Among the various new bosses introduced, the ones residing in the Nameless Mausoleums truly stand out for me. What sets them apart is their mastery over the innovative weapon types that have been recently added to the game with this expansion.

In “Shadow of the Erdtree,” there are a total of four Nameless Mausoleums. Although they may not be the most challenging bosses in the Elden Ring DLC, their movesets are truly exceptional. Players seeking one of Elden Ring’s finest Great Katanas should definitely attempt defeating these foes. Here is how to access it:

How To Find Eastern Nameless Mausoleum In Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

Players can encounter the Dancer of Ranah boss in the Southern Nameless Mausoleum relatively early in their journey, but accessing the Eastern Nameless Mausoleum requires some patience. To progress, players must initially defeat the Golden Hippopotamus, found immediately upon entering the Shadow Keep. After this victory, the Main Gate Plaza Site of Grace will be unlocked. Newcomers, however, will need to follow a longer path since the gate on the right of the Site of Grace will remain locked. Fortunately, the route is not complicated.

To reach the room with the Black Knights, players should turn left and walk along the path until they find it. Once inside, go outside and take a right. Follow the bridge almost to its end, keeping in mind that there will be a ladder on the left which will help them descend. At the spot where there’s a painting, look for a hidden wall on the right side of the room. Behind this wall, players will discover a coffin. Use the coffin to unlock the way to the Castle Watering Hole and its Site of Grace. Finally, head in the direction of southeast from the Castle Watering Hole to reach the Recluses’ River Upstream Site of Grace.

To proceed, head southeast along the given path towards Recluses’ River Downstream Site of Grace. You’ll encounter some stone slabs that can be used for descent. However, it is not necessary for players to go all the way down; reaching only the beginning of the waterfall suffices. Next, follow the path leading you to Eastern Nameless Mausoleum.

How To Beat Rakshasa

Rakshasa is considered one of the less challenging bosses in the game, but players should not underestimate her power as her attacks can significantly reduce a player’s health in a few hits. For mages, this encounter is relatively straightforward. Although Rakshasa deals heavy damage, she doesn’t aggressively pursue players. Players can maintain a safe distance and unleash the powerful combination of Staff of Loss offhand and Night Comet to deal massive damage to Rakshasa. Occasionally, she may get too close; in such cases, quick dodge rolls will help players evade her attacks.

Instead of “For melee builds, having a weapon like the is another great option, because the Transient Moonlight weapon skill can stun-lock Rakshasa, preventing her from continuing her attacks,” you could say:

After conquering Rakshasa in the game, I’ll be rewarded with a bounty of 90,000 Runes, his formidable Great Katana, and a complete set of equipment including the Helm, Armor, Gauntlets, and Greaves.
