Throughout the world of Kairos in *Borderlands 4*, you’ll discover optional bosses, and the Battle Wagon is definitely one of the most interesting. This massive elephant is covered in an RV packed with Rippers, and repeatedly defeating it can reward you with a huge amount of loot in *Borderlands 4*.
The Battle Wagon is a great place to farm for loot in *Borderlands 4* because it’s filled with enemies and breakable parts, all of which can drop items – including unique legendary gear if you get lucky. Here’s a guide on how to efficiently farm the Battle Wagon in *Borderlands 4*.
How to Beat the Battle Wagon in Borderlands 4
You can find the Battle Wagon at the Ripper Drill Site in Stoneblood Forest, which is located in the northwestern Terminus Range. You don’t need to complete any quests to get there – you can go whenever you’re ready. The nearest fast travel point is the Snowy Wells Safehouse, a little ways to the south.
You’ll first encounter the Battle Wagon after defeating the initial groups of Rippers. Once you’ve reduced their numbers, it will emerge from a cave at the back of the arena. Be prepared – it carries Rippers on its back, and even more bandits will pop up from underground during the fight. It’s a good idea to keep some of those extra enemies alive; you can use them to revive yourself if you fall in battle.

To defeat this enemy, first use a long-range weapon to take out the bandits on top of the Battle Wagon. Next, use a corrosive weapon to destroy the missile launchers on either side of the elephant. Finally, finish off the Battle Wagon with fire-based attacks. Be careful of its area-of-effect stomp and incoming homing missiles, and watch out for other enemies approaching from the sides.
Battle Wagon Legendary Drops

The Battle Wagon has three dedicated legendary drops in its loot pool.
Legendary | Description |
---|---|
Finnity XXX-L Sniper Rifle | Pipin’ Hot Barrels: Does not consume Ammo while Overheating. |
Compleation Shield | Sisyphusian: When Armor Shield is full, it instantly loses an Armor Segment. |
Bugbear Assault Rifle | Rotary Gun: Scales up to +100% Damage and +200% Damage Radius based on the emptiness of the Magazine. |
These three legendary items are all really useful depending on how you’re building your character. The Compleation shield, especially, is incredibly powerful for builds that benefit from broken or restored armor, because it’s constantly being damaged and repaired.
The Finnity XXX-L is a powerful charging weapon that uses a Children of the Vault magazine. Although its firing style isn’t favored by many, it still packs a punch. Despite being labeled as a sniper rifle in the game, it actually performs more like a minigun, making it excellent for quickly dealing critical hits or building a Fire-based character.
The Bugbear is a fast-firing assault rifle from Torgue. As you use up its ammo, it deals increasing damage and creates larger explosions. It also has a secondary fire mode that calls in a devastating airstrike. If you’re building a character around explosive damage or using items that boost Torgue weapons, the Bugbear is the ultimate legendary assault rifle in Borderlands 4.
