How to Beat The Force of Change in Enotria: The Last Song

As a seasoned gamer with years of Soulslike experience under my belt, I can confidently say that Enotria: The Last Song is no walk in the park. The tutorial boss, The Force of Change, is a relentless adversary that will test your every move and reflex.

In Enotria: The Last Song, the initial adversary you encounter is intended as a training boss, known as The Force of Change. This battle is crafted to give you the chance to apply the skills and techniques you’ve acquired so far, and it marks the unlocking of your first Mask and Loadout. However, don’t be fooled by its role in teaching you the game – it’s a challenging foe! As you’re still getting accustomed to the mechanics of Enotria, The Force of Change proves relentless. Here are some tips for conquering The Force of Change in Enotria: The Last Song!

How to Defeat The Force of Change

In the game, you’ll encounter the tutorial boss, The Force of Change, who is relentless. He moves at lightning speed, covering ground quickly, and when he attacks, it’s a rapid succession of strikes, slashes, and ground assaults that give you minimal time to react. To evade him effectively, you’ll need to dodge multiple times, not just once, to stay out of his reach. However, this may not be enough. You’ll notice that the character Enotria lacks substantial invincibility frames compared to a character like Elden Ring in the face of his attacks.

The Power of Transformation possesses a variety of combinations that inflict heavy damage if they connect while you’re off-balance. One of its initial moves, a swift downward slash, displays remarkable agility. It can adjust its trajectory during the attack, making it essential to dodge backward twice to evade its reach. This tactic applies equally well to forward slashes. Since you can’t dodge sideways effectively due to its ability to rotate and anticipate your movements, it’s advisable to dodge backwards, keeping clear of its attacks. Instead, advance when you spot an opportunity to attack relentlessly. Repeat this pattern for continued success.

In a perfect world, it would indeed be that simple. However, when The Force of Change sweeps the ground with a sudden surge, it’s wiser to advance toward him rather than retreating sideways or backward. If you opt for those directions, you’ll either find yourself too far away to inflict damage before his subsequent combo, or you might sustain some damage yourself. But if timed correctly, you can maneuver within the radius of his effect and deliver a few blows while he regroups.

As a gamer, I’ve found myself squaring off against this enigmatic opponent who keeps me on my toes. His moveset isn’t straightforward; it’s more like a dance where the steps change mid-rhythm. Sometimes he cancels my attacks mid-swing or switches directions unexpectedly, making predicting his next move quite the challenge.
