How to Bow in Where Winds Meet

In Where Winds Meet, players will find various locations and puzzles that require them to perform a bow. These are usually hinted at through clues found in scrolls or hidden books, which promise valuable rewards for completing the action.

Players trying to perform a bow for certain puzzles are often confused because the game’s emote menu doesn’t have a clear bowing option. Some think it’s an emote you unlock as you play the story, while others search for a button to press, expecting it to work like changing your character’s appearance in WWM. However, bowing is actually easy – you just need to know how! Here’s a simple guide.

How to Bow in Where Winds Meet

In Where Winds Meet, you can only bow on a special grass mat. If the game asks you to bow, you’ll always find one of these mats nearby. These mats, called Liangxi, are similar in appearance to Japanese Tatami mats.

To bow, walk up to the grass mat until you see the “Bow” prompt appear on screen. Then, press the interact button (F on keyboard or R2 on a controller) to begin bowing. You’ll see a bar showing how long the action takes.

During the “Echoes in the Shrine” quest, you need to use your bow on the grass mat in front of the large statue three times to make it move. Each time you draw your bow, wait for the progress bar to fill up, and then repeat the action twice more. Once you’ve done this three times, the statue will automatically move.

In Where Winds Meet, the name shown when you draw your bow after stepping on a grass mat can change based on the language you’ve chosen for the game.
