While not as huge as some other gacha games, the areas you can explore in Arknights Endfield are still pretty sizable. You’ll likely find yourself revisiting places and doing a lot of walking. Luckily, if you dislike walking, you can use Ziplines to quickly get around.
Initially, you can only use existing Ziplines to get around. But once you learn the crafting recipe, you’ll be able to create your own, making travel much quicker and simpler. Here’s how to build your own Ziplines in Endfield.
How to Unlock Ziplines in Endfield
To start building Ziplines, you first need to unlock the ‘Field Mobility I’ upgrade in the AIC Index menu. This upgrade is part of the second set of blueprints, and you’ll unlock it by playing through the main story. To get the blueprints and upgrades themselves, find and interact with Dataloggers scattered around the map – they look like yellow, waving tube men.
Building Zipline Pylons needs Amethyst Parts, but this is easy if you’re already making a lot of them. Eventually, you can unlock better Zipline Towers, which use Cryston Parts – these are trickier to craft than Amethyst Parts.
Okay, so when I’m building ziplines, I’ve learned that Pylons need to be pretty close – within 80 meters – to link up with other ziplines. Towers, though, are way more forgiving; I can connect them to each other from up to 110 meters away. It’s good to know the difference when I’m planning my routes!
Placing & Using Ziplines
To use a Zipline, you’ll first need to establish a power source. Build a power line connecting it to your main Power Core (PAC) or a sub-PAC at a nearby Outpost in Endfield. Use Relay Towers to extend this power line – connect them in a chain – all the way to where you want your Zipline. Finally, place an Electric Pylon right next to the Zipline to activate it, and you’re ready to go!
The Relay Distribution node, available in the Basic AIC III tier, generates a small power field around your Relay Towers. It’s a good idea to get this upgrade quickly to avoid needing to build extra Electric Pylons when expanding into new territory.
Now, build and position at least two Ziplines – or just one if another one is already close by. You don’t need to connect them with cables. Simply ensure the Ziplines are close enough to each other to use, and you can travel between them in any direction as often as you like, as long as there’s a Zipline waiting on the other side.
To let other players use your Ziplines in their worlds, simply interact with the Zipline and tap the Share button.
