Haldin is one of nine wanted criminals you can hunt for rewards in Hernand, the starting area of Crimson Desert. He offers the biggest payout – 30 silver. However, Haldin is harder to find than the other bounties, as certain conditions need to be met before his bounty even appears.
If you’re trying to finish all nine Hernand bounties in Crimson Desert, you might find yourself stuck with Haldin, unsure of what to do next. This guide will walk you through exactly how to complete Haldin’s outlaw bounty, with helpful tips to make the process easier.
How to Unlock and Capture Haldin in Crimson Desert
- Unlike other bounties, Haldin’s bounty notice won’t appear in the world unless the Vilkom Outpost, where he hides, is liberated from the Wolf Tracker bandits.
- The outpost is located northeast of Hernand Town, right near the Hills of No Return, as shown on the map image above. There are two fast travel points around the outpost, so make sure to activate at least one of them first.
- The Vilkom Outpost is heavily guarded with tough berserk enemies and many rifle shooters, so clearing it single-handedly in a direct fight may be challenging early on. To make it more manageable, try luring out small groups of enemies from the outpost to deal with them separately. You can also use roaming Hernand guard patrols to aid you in combat — and get more loot from them, too.
A few players in Crimson Desert managed to capture Haldin (whose location was initially unknown) before even seeing his bounty notice. However, you generally need to free the Vilkom Outpost first, so make sure you’re well-prepared.
- After the Vilkom Outpost is finally cleared, players will be able to find Haldin’s bounty notice during exploration of the Hernand Town surroundings. For us, the poster appeared on the wooden pole near Bloomwood Ranch, right above the Nas River marker on the map, as seen below.
- After examining Haldin’s bounty notice on the spot or from the inventory, his bounty quest becomes trackable in the Journal, and the map marker will be placed right at the center of Vilkom Outpost.
- Teleport back to the outpost, now claimed by Hernand soldiers, and look for a suspicious dwarf disguised as one of them. Sometimes Haldin may flee from the players without them noticing, and cannot be found inside the camp where the marker shows.
- If you can’t find Haldin in Crimson Desert, don’t worry — simply look for him outside the outpost walls, where he may be roaming, and check the minimap for his icon to appear and guide you.
- Once confronted, Haldin won’t put up a fight, so chase and tackle him quickly (X/A), hit him several times before a prompt appears to tie up the nasty thief.
- All that’s left is to deliver your captured bounty back to Hernand jail for a reward of 30 silver and some useful Contribution Points.
Similar to most bounties in Crimson Desert, it’s better to capture Haldin alive instead of killing him. You’ll only get half the reward if he’s dead, so try to take him in gently.
That concludes the guide to Haldin’s bounty in Crimson Desert. If you’re interested in completing more bounties, be sure to look for guides covering Bianca, Blix, Alessio, Warren, Salvatore, Fabrizio, and Simon de Montfort.
