How to Catch 3 Choppies in Crimson Desert (Mystical Ecosystem)

In Crimson Desert, the Mystical Ecosystem challenge asks players to capture three Choppies as part of a Sealed Abyss Artifact task. You can most easily find Choppies in the Axiom Archive, the first sky island area you’ll explore during the game’s main storyline.

You can find the Mystical Ecosystem Sealed Abyss Artifact on an altar west of the Pailune Floodgates, just south of Pailune city. It’s near a small wooden shrine next to the road, and you’ll know you’re in the right place because there are cats gathered around it.

How to Capture 3 Choppies in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, Choppies are small, white, rabbit-like creatures easily recognized by their large, pointed ears and black tips on their paws and ears. They’re quite rare, but the best place to find them is in the Axiom Archive Abyss – the same area where you unlock the Axiom Force ability during the Polar Opposites quest. Here’s a guide on how to do so.

Open the map and center your camera on Hernand city.

  1. Switch to the Abyss layer by pressing R3 (Xbox/PS5) or Middle Mouse Button (PC), and you’ll immediately see the Axiom Archive sky island.
  2. Fast travel to the Axiom Archive Abyss Nexus to reach the island.

Slowly walk around, and you’ll easily find multiple choppies roaming about. These are the small white rabbit creatures that run away when you approach them.

  3. Run after the choppies and press and hold the interact key to catch them.
  4. Repeat this three times to complete the Mystical Ecosystem Sealed Abyss Artifact challenge.

After finishing the challenge, go to your inventory and choose the glowing white Sealed Abyss Artifact. This will give you a regular Abyss Artifact.

Once you catch a white rabbit, you’ll unlock an entry for Choppy in the Mysterious Creatures section of your Journal. It turns out these cute bunnies aren’t actually animals – they’re chimeras, which explains why they’re so difficult to find out in the open.
