How to Catch Cheaters in Duo and Five-Card in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, Duo and Five-Card are mini-games where you can try to win a pot of money by calling out other players for cheating.

Fortunately, it’s quite simple to spot a cheater. By watching for certain behaviors, players can avoid being tricked. Here’s how it works:

How to Identify Cheaters in Duo and Five-Card in Crimson Desert

If you suspect someone is cheating at Duo or Five-Card in Crimson Desert, watch their hands and elbows closely while they deal the cards.

  • If the dealer lifts his elbow and grabs the card from above the rim of the cup, he is not cheating.
  • If the dealer tucks his elbow in below the rim of the cup and grabs the cards with the back of his hand facing the table, he is cheating.

If you see someone cheating, you need to call them out right away. If you wait too long, they’ll likely succeed in getting away with it.

This video demonstrates a player successfully identifying and catching cheaters during a Duo game in a gambling setting.

In the city of Tommaso, within the Tashkalp region, the Gambling Den game features a Duo mode where four players compete with a 300 Silver buy-in. If you can catch all the non-player characters (NPCs) at the table cheating, you’ll earn a bonus of 900 Silver. Many players find repeatedly saving and reloading the game to expose these cheaters is a simple way to make money in Crimson Desert.

What Happens if You Accurately Accuse a Cheater?

If you successfully call out a cheater, a game official will punish them by taking their winnings and forcing them to leave. The cheater’s winnings will then be split equally among all the other players. If you’re the last player remaining, you’ll receive the entire amount.

What Happens if You Falsely Accuse Someone?

If you wrongly claim someone is cheating, you’ll lose any silver you bet on the match and be removed from the game. You’ll also be banned from the Duo gambling minigame for one in-game day (which is 2 real-time hours). You can shorten the ban to just 12 real-time hours by sleeping in a bed or resting at a bonfire.

What Happens if You Get Caught Cheating?

Cheating in Duo will result in immediate disqualification, loss of your stake, and loss of your Mask, if you have one. You’ll also be banned from playing for two real-time hours (one in-game day).
