Mega Chimecho is a powerful, noisy Pokémon introduced in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends Z-A. Trainers will definitely want to consider adding this Psychic-type to their team.
Wondering how to get Chimecho in Legends Z-A? This guide will show you where to find Chimecho and, crucially, the Chimechite Mega Stone needed to evolve it into Mega Chimecho. We’ll also cover Mega Chimecho’s stats, moves, and the best nature to maximize its potential.
How to Get Chimecho & Mega Chimecho In Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension
Chimecho and its Mega Evolution are only available in the Mega Dimension DLC. To find and catch them, players must buy the DLC and look in special areas called Hyperspace Wild Zones. These zones appear for a limited time and offer a chance to catch rare Pokémon like Chimecho, but they’re random. You’ll need to start Hyperdimension Survey Missions first to make them appear.
Okay, so I’ve discovered that if you find a Hyperspace Wild Zone with Chingling in it, you absolutely have to try and catch it! Thankfully, Ansha and Hoopa make these special Donuts that help. And here’s the cool part: if you get Chingling’s friendship up really high and level it up at night, it evolves into a Chimecho! It’s a pretty awesome evolution if you ask me.
You can increase Chingling’s friendship by taking it to a cafe. Once it’s in your team, let’s find out where to locate the Mega Stone needed to evolve it into Mega Chimecho.

- Observe the map carefully and look for 2-Star Rifts with the Unidentified Mega Stone Detected! label.
- Grab a Donut with at least +30 Hyperspace Level Bonus and mark the rift in the map.
- Approach the rift, select the Donut, and enter.
- Players will face a Rogue Mega Chimecho inside, and players need to be extremely careful with the remaining time. The more calories a Donut has, the longer the timer will go before the rift closes.
- Unlike regular Battle Zone and Wild Zone rifts, the Mega Evolution Rifts do not vanish, so players can try again if they fail.
After defeating Mega Chimecho, you’ll obtain the Chimechite. Use this Mega Stone on any Chimecho to allow it to Mega Evolve. Keep in mind that Mega Evolution in Pokemon Legends Z-A requires Mega Energy, which you activate by pressing the Right Stick.
Mega Chimecho is a solid Pokémon with significantly improved Defense, Special Defense, Special Attack, and Speed. As a Steel/Psychic type, it performs well, though it doesn’t quite reach the highest competitive levels. Despite this, Mega Chimecho is capable of handling many opponents in both PvE and PvP battles, earning it a Tier A ranking in both formats.
The best moves for this Pokémon are Psyshock, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, and Protect. While it’s not super fast, using Protect strategically can still be very effective, as these moves offer good overall coverage. Players can also find a Secret TM in Lumiose City to teach it Steel Beam.
