If you’re trying to complete your Insect Collection Journal in Heartopia, the Pink Katydid is a must-have! It’s a rare insect that doesn’t appear during normal gameplay. You can only find it during a specific event. This guide will tell you exactly when, where, and how to catch it in Heartopia.
Where to Find the Pink Katydid in Heartopia
You can only find and catch the Pink Katydid during the Bait the Insects event in Heartopia. It won’t appear anywhere else, even if you search extensively. The event always happens on Onsen Mountain, which is the only place where this bug can be found.
To get the Pink Katydid during the event, you need to reach Level 3 in the Insect Catching hobby. If your hobby level is lower than that, the Pink Katydid won’t show up, even if the event is happening.
Once you’ve fulfilled the initial requirements, the Pink Katydid is quite easy to find. It can appear at any time of day and spawns during Sunny, Rainy, and Rainbow weather in Heartopia, which makes it one of the more flexible rare insects when it comes to when and where it appears.
Okay, so I’m trying to find this Pink Katydid, and let me tell you, it’s a master of camouflage! It loves to chill at the top of tall grass, right where the pink flowers are, and honestly, it’s super hard to spot. You really have to slow down and carefully scan through all the grass to find it – it blends in way better than you’d think.
During the event, Pink Katydids can appear anywhere on Onsen Mountain, but players usually find them near the very top. Look for the tallest grass patches as you climb towards the summit.
How to Catch the Pink Katydid in Heartopia
Pink Katydids are quick and easily startled. If you try to approach them quickly, they’ll dart away and hide in the grass. The best way to catch one is to use a fully charged bubble instead of just quickly casting it.
Press and hold the bubble button to activate stealth mode and carefully approach the pink bug. This will fill up your bubble, making it easier to catch. When you see the Pink Katydid, aim carefully and release the bubble when it’s full before the bug gets away.
Leveling up your Insect Catching Hobby also extends how far your Insect Net can reach, allowing you to catch bugs like the Pink Katydid from further away.
