EA Sports FC 26 lets you create your ideal team using player cards in Ultimate Team. You have lots of control over how your team plays, from formations and player instructions to upgrading players and even choosing your manager. However, when you begin, your team is given a default, random name. While you *can* change this name, the game doesn’t tell you how. Here’s a guide to customizing your Ultimate Team club name in EA FC 26.
How to Change Your Team Name in EA FC 26 Ultimate Team
Get Rid of That Weird Default Squad Name
To change your team’s name, first go to the ‘Club’ section in the Ultimate Team menu, then select ‘View Squad’. This will show you your current lineup. Once you’re there, simply press down on the left stick of your controller (also called L3), and a small menu will appear on the left side of the screen.
The ‘Team Management’ section lets you customize how your team plays – you can change your formation, player kits, and even switch between different team setups you’ve saved within your Ultimate Team club. To see all the squads you’ve created, simply select the ‘Squad Selector’ option.
To change your squad’s name, simply select the squad you want to rename, then press X (on Xbox) or Square (on PlayStation). A text box will appear where you can enter your new team name. When you’re satisfied, press the Menu button (Xbox) or Options button (PlayStation) to save the changes.
Just so you know, if you’ve created more than one squad in your Ultimate Team, you’ll have to update each one individually using the Squad Selector.
As a big FIFA/EA Sports Ultimate Team player, I’ve heard they’re now using AI to stop anyone from creating offensive team names, which is a good thing. But apparently, some people are trying to get around it by using weird characters or different ways of spelling things. Now, even if you manage to slip one past the initial check when you create your squad, be warned! If another player reports your name, or if EA does a check, you could get banned from Ultimate Team for up to two weeks. So it’s really not worth the risk!
