How to Complete First Interim Review in The First Descendant

As a dedicated fan of The First Descendant, I can’t help but share my excitement about this thrilling quest: joining Special Operations and facing off against waves of enemies in the Mine Blockade at Sterile Land.

Once you’ve progressed through many of the battlegrounds in “The First Descendant,” you’ll be given the opportunity to embark on the “[Joining Special Operations]” quest by the Albion robot instructor who acts as your descendant’s instructor.

I’ve been a seasoned Special Ops soldier for years now, and I’ve seen my fair share of challenging missions. But this one, described as “Mine Blockade” in the Sterile Land, seems particularly intriguing. The instructions are clear: I’m to join the operation through the Special Operations Terminal and make it to the first Interim Review at a minimum. It’s not going to be an easy feat, but with my experience, I’m confident we’ll get it done. Let’s move out!

First Descendant: How to Complete the First Interim Review

Mine Blockade at Sterile Land

To begin this quest, it’s important to note that you must start the mission from Albion instead of directly teleporting to Sterile Land. There’s a particular terminal at the Albion base designed specifically for missions like this one.

As a fan, I’d describe it like this: When you arrive at Albion via teleportation, take a quick two-step run forward, then make a left turn. You’ll soon come across a small cluster of machines close to the mailbox.

You may prefer the terminal on the right instead, which emits a yellow glow and has a spherical shape. Engage with it and subsequently select the Sterile Land option to halt the Kuiper Mining operation.

As a gamer, when I begin this mission, I’ll encounter hordes of adversaries coming my way. Overcoming these waves gives me a shot at enticing rewards such as an Amorphous Material Pattern, Shape Stabilizer Form, Gold, and more goodies. Important to remember: finishing just the initial phase of the operation is enough to wrap up this Sub Quest.

After completing the initial portion filled with monstrous waves, you have the option to venture deeper for greater rewards. However, upon finishing this stage, make your way back to Albion to conclude the matter by talking to the Descendant Instructor.
