Just like the rest of the game, there isn’t much direction on how to complete these tasks, and some are time-bound, which can lead to failure if you don’t act promptly. One such mission that I encountered early in my journey through Senedra Forest is the ‘Golden Watch Good Deed‘. If you’re not careful, figuring out where to deliver the watch can be a puzzling task.
Where to Find the Golden Watch in Hell Is Us
Exiting the ruins within Senedra Forest leads you to a sequence of shallow ditches. At the very start of these, catch sight of a flicker of yellow or gold on a side path that branches off from the main trench exit. Engage with this anomaly to discover a message and a golden wristwatch hidden nearby.
The soldier’s note reveals that while storming the forest, they encountered three Pal brothers hiding in a farmhouse. Regrettably, they were taken outside and executed. Among the brothers, one had a golden watch on him, which is now with the letter and was intended for the soldier’s comrade but has not been returned.
Where to Take the Golden Watch to Complete the Good Deed
To finish your good deed, please return Ernest Caddell’s golden watch to him. You might remember that he resides in the farmhouse you explored prior to venturing into the forest on your way to the ruins. In the basement of his house, you will find him near a picture of one of his sons. If you look carefully at this photo, you will notice that the son is wearing the golden watch.
A significant detail in this scenario is the watch’s strap bearing the name ‘Otis Caddell.’ If your memory serves you right from our initial conversation during the game with Ernest, that surname might ring a bell. Given the numerous enigmatic names and peculiar incidents in Hell Is Us, it’s understandable if this detail slips your mind.
To activate the ‘Trade’ function and hand over the watch to Ernest, simply press up on the directional pad. Ernest will appreciate your return of his watch, marking a good deed accomplished by you. To earn a reward for this action, navigate towards the Watcher’s Nest and solve the Pentos’ Tomb puzzle. Once achieved, approach Gildas Brom here and choose ‘Have I helped enough Hadeans?’ from the dialogue options at the top. In appreciation of your efforts, Gildas will then grant you a reward for your diligence.
In the game “Hell Is Us“, this is where you’ll primarily accumulate your rewards for performing good deeds, though certain characters might also instantly gift you with items upon your assistance. Other good deeds may only grant you additional scenes or subtle alterations in the storyline progression.
