How to Complete Kii Assassin Outpost in AC Shadows Without Fighting Clifftop Yamabushi!

In the course of playing through the Assassin questline, players will encounter the Path of Chosen mission, which ultimately leads them to a hidden assassin outpost they’ll need to find in ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’. Although all assassin outposts are generally straightforward, the one found within the Kii region can prove challenging due to its being heavily guarded by a formidable adversary known as Clifftop Yamabushi.

Despite the sense of necessity to vanquish this foe to finish the mission, there is an alternative route to effortlessly conclude the Kii Assassin Outpost without engaging in battle. However, if your character exceeds level 36, it’s advisable to confront and conquer him for the chance to acquire his legendary equipment.

Path of Chosen Location in Kii Assassin Outpost Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

In the Kii region of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players need to finish the “Path of Chosen” activity which can be found in the western area of Iseji Trails. Upon arriving at this spot, you will find a bunch of kids chatting by the seashore. They are discussing a mad Yamabushi attempting to scale the mountain’s peak.

Begin your journey along the Path of Chosen by navigating through the treetops with a grappling hook, making your way into the mountain’s cavern. Ascend to the peak of the mountain as Naoe. At the end of this trail, players will encounter a formidable foe named “Clifftop Yamabushi” who resides near a campsite. If Naoe approaches too closely, this enemy will challenge her and initiate an attack.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, players have two options: they can choose to fight against the Clifftop Yamabushi, or they can opt for a stealthy approach and finish the mission peacefully by avoiding him. We’ll delve into each scenario.

Completing Kii Assassin Outpost Quest Without Fighting Clifftop Yamabushi

There exists a strategy for gamers to dodge the Clifftop Yamabushi battle in “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” if they find themselves underpowered and simply aim to wrap up the Kii Assassin Outpost mission. Here’s how you can pull it off.

  1. Switch to Yasuke before engaging the Clifftop Yamabushi.
  2. Once Yasuke gets close to him, he’ll acknowledge his status as a samurai and will ask him to leave. Slowly move around the Clifftop Yamabushi and open the chest behind him.
  3. Opening the chest will complete the Path of Chosen activity. Upon completing this, the Yamabushi will return to a dormant state and sit down somewhere.
  4. When Yamabushi has calmed down, go to a safe distance and switch to Naoe.
  5. Now, crouch down and safely approach the assassin sigil next to the camp to complete the Kii Assassin Outpost quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Defeating Clifftop Yamabushi & Rewards

If players are game for a battle, they can face off against the Clifftop Yamabushi. It’s suggested to switch to Yasuke when confronting a formidable opponent. Yet, with an optimized build, Naoe in “AC Shadows” could also successfully defeat this adversary as well.

After vanquishing the formidable Clifftop Yamabushi, I’ll be rewarded with the radiant Lustrous Peal, a legendary Naginata weapon for Yasuke. This extraordinary weapon comes equipped with a distinctive ability that enables fluid combo sequences to send foes crashing to the ground when they’re off-balance.
