How to Complete the Corpse Puzzle in the Examination Room in RE9

Okay, so I was exploring the East Wing and found a body on a table that needs some organ transplants. Turns out, in Resident Evil Requiem, I had to hunt down an Artificial Heart and Artificial Lungs to give to this corpse. Why? Because it’s hiding a treasure, and that’s how you get it!

Here’s a guide to solving the organless corpse puzzle and claiming the prize on the wrist. It details what you need to do as Grace in the Care Center to move forward quickly and survive.

How to Get the Artificial Heart in Resident Evil 9

First, you’ll need to find the Level 1 Keycard to unlock more doors. You can find it upstairs in the East Wing corridor. Once you have it, go to the ground floor of the West Wing and open the Security Level 1 door just past the Parlor.

Go through these doors and into the Custodian’s Office (the east room) to find a Wrench on the desk near the typewriter. Once you have the Wrench, head through the West Wing and look for a door with a handwheel. Use the Wrench on the door to open the Cold Storage and find the Artificial Heart.

How to Get the Artificial Lungs in Resident Evil 9

It’s a good idea to save your game in the Custodian’s Office in the West Wing. Then, head south to the Garage. Inside, you’ll find a van with the Organ Transport Box. Once you have it, a zombie driving a bulldozer will try to hit you, so shoot the driver to escape.

The Organ Transport Box has a puzzle hidden on its back. To open it, you’ll need to carefully follow a set of instructions.

  • Turn the dial to Hand (left)
  • Adjust the switch so it sits in the middle
  • Press the yellow buttons (2 and 5) so that they sit down, whereas the others stay up
  • Turn the dial to Auto (right)

Solving this puzzle will unlock the Organ Transport Box, giving you access to the Artificial Lungs. If you want to figure out the solution on your own, check the Leatherbound Notebook you found in the Puzzle Box in the Lead Researcher’s Office.

How to Complete the Organless Corpse Puzzle in Resident Evil 9

With the Artificial Lungs and Heart in your possession, go back to the Examination Room and find the body without organs. Open the chest and place both the Heart and Lungs inside – it doesn’t matter which one you put in first.

Once the body comes back to life, you’ll have to destroy it. Focus on headshots and be careful of its attacks. When the zombie is down, grab the Security Level 2 Keycard and proceed to the Isolation Ward.
