In Where Winds Meet, players can find many side quests, each set in a unique location within the Jianghu world. One intriguing area is the Ghost Market, hidden either beneath or within Kaifeng City. This mysterious place is filled with ghostly soldiers and a dangerous, poisonous fog.
The Ghost Market is where you’ll find the quest called March of the Dead. We’ll guide you through starting the quest and collecting the three items you need to finish it.
How To Start March Of The Dead
To begin the March of the Dead questline, you need to access the Ghost Market. The easiest way to do this is by starting the Bounty Trouble Lost Chapter quest, which you can find at Riverside Station in Moonveil Mountain, Qinghe.
Play through Bounty Trouble until your character passes out, which will lead you to the Ghost Market. However, finishing Bounty Trouble isn’t required to start March of the Dead.
March Of The Dead Walkthrough
While you’re in the Ghost Market, you’ll be affected by a mist that slowly lowers your health. To get rid of this effect, simply stand near one of the glowing green lanterns you’ll find throughout the market.
When you enter the Ghost Market, the Elder will ask you to find the Iron Spear, Mountain Crest, and Battle Helmet. You can get these by following the green lanterns along each path – each path leads to a chest with one of the items. Here’s where to find them all.
| 1. Mountain Crest | Turn right from the Elder, then follow the lanterns to the north, then across a small pond. |

| 2. Battle Helmet | Turn left from the Elder, then turn right, following the lanterns through a group of spectral soldiers, then take a slight left to find the chest. |
| 3. Iron Spear | Take the left path from the Elder, then another left further down the street. Round the corner, going up the stairs, then find the chest at the end of the path. |
After you collect all three items, go back to the Elder who’s standing at the entrance to the Ghost Market and give them to him. He’ll reward you with the Ghost Armor, which will protect you from the ghostly soldiers.
Next, follow the ghostly soldiers as they head west and then south—they’ll lead you to a door. Open it, and speak with Liu Changsheng again. He’ll then ask you to eliminate the clan leader, Zhu Yousheng.
This miniboss hits hard, but you can beat him quickly by timing your blocks and attacks just right. After defeating him, go back to Liu Changsheng to finish the quest.
Clearing the Nether Mist in the Ghost Market will let you explore the area without restrictions. Finishing the March of the Dead event also opens up new shops and things to do there.
