How to Connect Power in StarRupture

In StarRupture, power is essential for survival, but managing it effectively can be tricky. Ensuring everything is properly connected and powered up is a real challenge if you’re not careful.

StarRupture became available in early access on January 6th, and the developers have shared a roadmap detailing their plans for future updates and additions to the game.

Before learning the game’s content, it’s essential to understand how power works in StarRupture, and TopMob provides all the necessary information.

How to Get Power in StarRupture

In StarRupture, you gain power by creating special structures called power constructs. The simplest of these is the Solar Generator, and you’ll learn how to build it during the game’s tutorial.

Generators, like the Solar Generator which produces 10 units of power, have a limited output. If your buildings need more power than the generator can provide, everything will stop working. That’s why it’s important to regularly check how much power you’re making and how much your buildings are using.

You can always check how much power you have by looking at a Generator. It will show you both the total power available and how much power is currently being used. To get more power, build additional Generators, or simply turn off any machines you aren’t using right now.

How to Connect Power in StarRupture

In StarRupture, power is distributed through platforms or rails, which deliver it to any building or structure they’re connected to.

StarRupture doesn’t have the complex cable systems found in other games, which creates a simpler and more organized base layout. This design also allows you to easily dedicate power to specific zones, guaranteeing they stay powered even while you’re working on repairs or upgrades in other areas.

For connecting buildings like a Smelter and an Orbital Transporter, Rails are the most convenient option. They’re built above ground, so they don’t obstruct your base, and the game intelligently handles the connection process once you define the start and end points.

Platforms are useful for powering buildings in your habitat, especially those on a single level. You can also use them to create elevated power connections.
