As a seasoned player of Pokemon TCG Pocket with countless hours spent collecting and battling, I can confidently say that Special Shop Tickets are not my cup of tea. While they might appeal to some collectors or high spenders, for the average player like myself, they simply don’t offer any competitive advantage.
In a typical gacha game style, the Pokemon TCG Pocket app introduces multiple types of in-game currencies: Poke Gold, Shop Tickets, Premium Tickets, and Special Shop Tickets. The variety can be confusing, but don’t fret! We have prepared an extensive guide to clarify the workings of Special Shop Tickets and the two methods for obtaining them. This guide will also teach you how to use rare cards effectively!
Special Shop Tickets Explained
In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Special Shop Tickets are a rare accessory-unlocking currency. You earn them by either collecting high-rarity cards or by exchanging them with another currency called “Shop Tickets.”
At our unique store, you can utilize the exclusive Shop Vouchers to buy the Special Set 01 accessories. This set comprises a coin, sleeve, cover, playmat, and backdrop. To collect every item from this set, you’ll need either 64 Special Vouchers or 19,200 regular Shop Vouchers.
Special Accessory | Required Special Shop Tickets |
---|---|
Special Accessory 01 Coin | 12 |
Special Accessory 01 Sleeve | 12 |
Special Accessory 01 Playmat | 26 |
Special Accessory 01 Backdrop | 7 |
Special Accessory 01 Cover | 7 |
In simpler terms, you get Special Tickets by playing for free, whereas Premium Tickets are exclusive to those who have a Premium Pass subscription. However, both types of tickets allow you to purchase hard-to-find goods within the game.
How to Get Special Shop Tickets
At the moment, you can get Special Shop Tickets in two different ways: either by spending Shinedust and unique card duplicates (the first method), or swiftly trading common Shop Tickets (the second method). The initial approach, using rare cards, requires Shinedust and multiple copies of those rarer cards. Conversely, the second option, trading ordinary tickets, is immediate and doesn’t necessitate any extra resources.
How to Consume Rare Cards
- Go to My Cards.
- Filter cards by Rarity.
- Select a One-Star (or better) card you have at least three copies of.
- Tap the Obtain Flair option.
- Pay the required Shinedust to turn it into a Special Shop Ticket.
As a gamer diving into the world of Pokemon TCG Pocket, I’ve noticed that trading cards isn’t just about collecting them—it’s also about strategizing with an exchange mechanic. When I choose a card and peek at its “Get Flair” corner, I discover what goodies I can get in return for that specific card. For One-, Two-, and Three-Star cards, there’s even a Special Shop Ticket up for grabs among the items on offer!
As a dedicated Pokémon TCG player, I’ve noticed that the amount of Shinedust needed to power up my rare cards escalates with their rarity. For instance, a One-Star Pokemon card needs 500 Shinedust, while a Two-Star card calls for 1,800 Shinedust, and a coveted Three-Star card demands a whopping 4,000 Shinedust!
How to Buy Special Tickets
A unique ticket called the ‘Special Ticket’ can be bought for 300 standard shop tickets from the store. These shop tickets are gained by finishing tasks, missions, and objectives in different modes or by buying items directly from the store. However, they build up gradually, which makes it inefficient to use 300 on a single Special Ticket. It’s usually more sensible to save them for pricier items such as the ‘Pokemon Pocket’’s Pack Hourglasses.
Are Special Shop Tickets Worth It?
Essentially, Special Tickets aren’t really beneficial for most players. If you’re a passionate collector or a heavy spender who desires every cosmetic item in Pokemon Pocket, then they might be worth considering. However, for the average player, these tickets offer no competitive edge and are solely focused on aesthetics.
Luckily, the way Pokemon TCG Pocket is monetized through Special Tickets won’t influence the game, meaning no one has an advantage just because they spend a lot on these in-game currencies. You can play worry-free!
