Like other action-adventure games, Arknights Endfield features enemies – both regular mobs and challenging bosses. To defeat them, you’ll equip your operators with armor sets consisting of Armor, Gloves, and Kits. These sets improve your characters’ core stats and give them useful bonuses. If you want to learn how to craft and upgrade gear in this RPG from Hypergryph, here’s a helpful guide.
How to Craft Gear in Arknights Endfield
Okay, so in Arknights Endfield, if you want to start making gear, you first need to unlock the Gear Assemble system. I figured out you can do that by finishing the Rally and Unite quest – it’s in Chapter One, Valley IV. But that’s not all! You also have to fix the Hub Base Comms Node, which means putting all the Originum components in the right spots on the circuit board. It’s a little tricky, but totally worth it to get that gear crafting going!
After finishing up, activate AIC by clicking the ‘Explore’ button in the top-left corner. Then, find and select the Gear Assembly icon on the right. Choose a gear recipe from the list and click ‘Craft’.
When I first started playing, all the gear recipes I had were pretty basic – they showed up as grey or white. This stuff wasn’t amazing, honestly, with lower stats and no special bonuses for collecting a full set. But as I leveled up my Authority and got further into the game, I started unlocking recipes for better gear – green, blue, purple, and even gold! These sets are way more powerful and actually give you bonuses if you collect the whole thing.
You can make all sorts of equipment using this process, but to create better items, you’ll need to find the recipes—also called blueprints—for each level of rarity. You can find a more detailed guide to gear blueprints here.
Creating each piece of gear demands specific materials. Obtaining these, particularly for powerful armor, means building production lines – starting with gathering raw resources, refining them, and then using Gear Units to create the necessary components. Here’s a breakdown of the materials needed for each armor type in Arknights Endfield:
| Gear Rarity | Level | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Grey/White | 10 | Origocrust and Wood |
| Green | 20 | Valley Stock Bills and Amethyst Components |
| Green | 28 | Valley Stock Bills and Amethyst Components |
| Blue | 36 | Valley Stock Bills and Ferrium Components |
| Purple | 50 | Valley Stock Bills and Cryston Components |
| Gold | 70 | Wuling Stock Bills and Xiranite Components |
How to Upgrade Gear in Arknights Endfield
Once I’ve got my gear all sorted out, I love that I can really fine-tune the stats to exactly how I want them. The best part? It’s all done through Artificing and there’s no random luck involved, which is a huge relief!
You’ll unlock Artificing after you’ve progressed a bit into the main story in Wuling City (Chapter Two). To use it in Arknights Endfield, open the Gear Assembly menu, then select the Artificing tab. From there, you can upgrade the stats on your armor – like Agility, Will, or Strength – to improve its performance.
Upgrading your gear requires two things: Wuling Artificing Catalysts (which you get from the Wuling store using in-game currency) and an exact copy of the gear you’re upgrading. Basically, you’ll need multiple pieces of the same gear to improve it.
