In Tokyo Scramble, players can distract Goblins by building them treadmills. This keeps them running and prevents them from attacking. This guide explains how to create these treadmills in two specific areas of Episode 1, which is necessary to progress in the game.

How to Create a Goblin Treadmill in Tokyo Scramble

At the beginning of Episode 1, players will find an optional goal: building a Goblin treadmill. While not required to complete the episode, it’s a helpful tool that creates a distraction, making it easier to sneak past enemies during the Tokyo Scramble section.

In Tokyo Scramble, if you get near an escalator, Anne’s smartwatch will alert you that you can control it. Activating the escalator will attract a Goblin, who will rush over and get stuck on it, much like they’re on a treadmill.

How to Get Past the Dinosaurs in Tokyo Scramble Episode 1

In Episode 1, players can distract Goblins by using the escalators. To deal with the first Goblin, they should activate the escalator’s descender to drop it. Then, they need to approach the fallen Goblin to get close enough to activate another escalator, which will draw the attention of a second Goblin.

Once you’ve defeated the first two Goblins, you’ll enter an area with two escalators and three more Goblins. To make things easier, activate the escalator nearest the entrance – this will draw the attention of one Goblin. Then, you’ll need to deal with the Goblin near the exit and the last Goblin, which is the most difficult to sneak past.

To finish Episode 1, players need to act quickly when the central Goblin moves to the right and the other Goblin is near the exit. At that moment, they should move to the left side of the room and crawl under the debris. This lets them loop around and approach the second escalator, where they can distract the Goblin guarding the exit. Finally, when the central Goblin is furthest away, players can sprint to the exit and complete the episode.
