In “The Sims 4” Businesses and Hobbies expansion, the spotlight is on a diverse range of abilities and pastimes. This add-on allows players to capitalize on their top talents and beloved hobbies by starting a Small Business that could potentially bring in profits. However, it’s important to note that Businesses and Hobbies isn’t just about enhancing existing aspects of “The Sims 4,” it also introduces unique activities and skills like Tattooing, adding a fresh layer of excitement to the gameplay experience.
If Sims aspire to excel as a tattoo artist in town or just desire a unique body art, they can achieve their goal using Businesses and Hobbies. This expansion enhances the basic game’s and other packs’ tattoos by introducing a custom tattoo tool of its own, elevating the designs to a new level.
How to Create a Custom Tattoo in The Sims 4
Here are two methods for designing a personalized tattoo in The Sims 4:
1. Head to a tattoo parlor (or any spot featuring a Tattooing Table) and ask for a custom design, which will transport you to Create-a-Sim.
2. Skip the visit to the tattoo parlor and go directly to Create-a-Sim, then navigate to the Tattoos section located within the Body tab.
Players can create their own tattoos for free in CAS, but only those with high Tattooing Skill will have access to many designs. The menu offers similar functionalities. This also implies that if a tattoo artist doesn’t possess a specific design, Sims won’t be able to acquire it from them either.
How the Custom Tattoo Tool Works in The Sims 4
To initiate a personalized tattoo design for your Sim, you’ll first need to choose the location where they will have the tattoo applied. You can pick from various spots including both arms (upper and lower), legs (left and right), the front (stomach, chest), back (lower and upper), and head regions.
As a gamer, I can now dive into the world of self-expression by stepping into the ‘Paint Mode’. This magical feature opens up a treasure trove of stamps, stencils, and brushes at my fingertips, along with a color wheel and adjustable opacity settings. With Paint Mode, the possibilities are endless, allowing me to design and create any type of unique, custom tattoo that truly reflects my personality.
In more challenging locations for tattoo design, players have the option to choose various poses to facilitate accessing specific areas of the body.
Stamps
Users have the option to choose from various Tattoo Stamps, ideal for designing mini-tattoos or for incorporating them into larger artwork.
Stencils
In this category, you’ll find ready-to-use stencils for your Sims’ skin, which players can customize by adding colors of their choice. This is particularly useful as it offers tattoo designs that might be difficult or challenging to achieve accurately using the Brush and Stamp tools in the game.
Brushes
In this segment, you can pick out a brush for your character and use it to generate any design you desire. Essentially, it’s a creative instrument that lets players draw on their Sim characters. This video demonstrates all the tattoo tools offered in Paint Mode, helping gamers grasp how each one functions.
Users are able to construct and choose among multiple layers when designing a tattoo. Layers containing pre-designed tattoos can be adjusted in position, allowing them to appear either at the front or back. However, for custom tattoos, arranging them in this manner is currently not available. Furthermore, users do not have the option to delete individual custom layer designs; instead, they must either erase parts of the design or remove the entire tattoo altogether.
