In Oblivion Remastered, one undesirable scenario for players is contracting Vampirism. While being a vampire offers certain perks, the downsides are significantly more than any positive aspects it might provide.

Unfortunately, the game fails to provide any instructions on removing Vampirism, which might lead to a corrupted save file and spoil the player’s gaming experience. But luckily, there’s a simple fix for this issue.

In this tutorial, you’ll discover various methods for removing Vampirism in Oblivion: Remastered. Additionally, you’ll find out about the quickest approach to eliminate it, which is our suggested technique.

How to Cure Vampirism in Oblivion Remastered

In Oblivion Remastered, there are two methods to get rid of the Vampirism affliction. Similar to the original game, you can eliminate this nuisance by either finishing the Vampire Cure quest or curing yourself at Deepscorn Hollow. I’d suggest choosing the latter option as it is less complex.

In the Vampire Cure mission, you need to visit various merchants and buy specific items. This task might not seem overly challenging. But, if a character has completely transformed into a Vampire, they will find it difficult to interact with these merchants.

It’s best to try the Vampire Cure quest if you’re still in the early phases of becoming a Vampire, meaning you haven’t completed your transformation yet.

If you’re interested in embarking on the Vampire Cure journey, you can kick things off by chatting with Raminus Polus at the Arcane University located within Imperial City. Upon finishing the Vampire Cure quest, players will be rewarded with a drinkable potion that will rid them of their Vampiric state.

How to Remove Vampirism at Deepscorn Hollow

In the original release of Oblivion, there was an additional content pack called Deepscorn Hollow. However, with the remastered edition, this bonus content is now built-in, allowing players to explore it at their leisure whenever they play.

The provided image shows you where Deepscorn Hollow is situated. Upon reaching this spot within the south-eastern part of the map, you’ll come across a water body featuring remnants of crumbled stone buildings.

Navigate through these stone formations and dive deep to discover a sizable wooden object with a central hole. Enter this hole to come across an entrance that leads to a hidden chamber, but fear not, there’s no need for lockpicks as the door is already open.

Upon entering this place, turn left at the first opportunity, pass through a door, and then take another left to discover an altar smack in the center of the room. This is the altar used for curing Vampirism in Oblivion Remastered, however, you’ll require some Purgeblood Salts before you can do so. Fortunately, there are some close by.

To your left, next to the altar, you’ll discover a mineral deposit. Interact with this deposit to obtain some Purgeblood Salts, then make your way back to the altar and present the salts as an offering.

In the game, you’ll be prompted to decide whether to eliminate your Vampirism, and choosing ‘Yes’ will do just that. This altar is always available for use, and there’s no restriction on how often you can remove your Vampirism with it.

How to Get Vampirism

In the game Oblivion Remastered, there are several methods by which one could contract Vampirism. Understanding these means you can take steps to prevent being infected with this condition once more.

Initially, players can acquire Vampirism when they are attacked or bitten by a Vampire. If a player is struck by a vampire’s weapon, they may contract an early form of the affliction. After three in-game days, the disease will have fully taken hold.

When venturing into caverns, where vampires are often discovered, it’s wise to come fully equipped. Should you stumble upon a vampire, aim to evade any assaults and eliminate them swiftly. Fire-based abilities could be quite effective in this scenario.

Another way to acquire Vampirism is by completing the Dark Brotherhood’s storyline. In the quest titled “Darkness Eternal“, Vicente Vailtieri presents you with a mysterious offering known as the “Dark Gift.” If accepted, this gift initiates your transformation into a Vampire and grants you Vampirism.

Vampirism Benefits and Negatives

Although being a vampire comes with certain drawbacks, it also offers advantages to the player. Each stage (consisting of four phases in all) has unique benefits and disadvantages, as detailed below.

Stage Disease Resistance Normal Weapon Resistance Fire Weakness Sun Damage
One 25% 5% 20% 0 health per second
Two 50% 10% 30% 1 health per second
Three 75% 15% 40% 4 health per second
Four 100% 20% 50% 8 health per second

Moreover, the character’s traits and abilities are influenced by the progression of Vampirism in the game.
