In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, you’ll play as Phyre, an ancient vampire who goes by the name The Nomad. Phyre is a fully voiced character with a set appearance based on their body type, but players will still be able to customize their look to some extent.
You’ll encounter Phyre frequently throughout Bloodlines 2, and the game lets you customize their appearance if you’re not happy with how they look. Here’s a guide on how to do it.
How to Edit Appearance in Bloodlines 2
Although VTMB2 doesn’t let you create a character from scratch, you can still customize Phyre’s appearance – things like their hair, eyes, and clothes. To do this, open the pause menu by pressing Escape or Start, then go to the Appearance tab. You’ll find all the cosmetic options you’ve unlocked there. This menu becomes available after you complete the tutorial.
One of the best features is the ability to customize your character‘s look whenever you want, and it’s completely free! You can create the most impressive monster in Seattle right away, as all hairstyles, piercings, and facial features are instantly available. However, you’ll need to put in some effort to unlock different outfits.
In Bloodlines 2, you unlock outfits by progressing through each vampire clan’s unique skill trees. For instance, learning a new skill as a Toreador will reward you with a Toreador-themed outfit. You can change your outfit whenever and wherever you like, just like other cosmetic items. However, your clothing choices have a significant effect on how NPCs react to you and Phyre.
The clothes you wear can change how people react to you in different parts of Seattle. If you dress formally in a rougher area, like Brujah territory, people – both humans and vampires – might see you as stuck-up and avoid you. But if you dress in a style that fits the local scene, like Toreador fashion at the Atrium nightclub, people will likely be more welcoming and talk to you.
Your outfit can influence your Blood Resonance, which is how you collect special blood from regular people. You’ll often see civilians with red, blue, or pink icons above their heads – these individuals have resonant blood that allows you to unlock new abilities in VTMB2. You can also find resonant blood by using Heightened Senses to spot people glowing with those same colors, and the way you interact with them determines how much resonant blood you can obtain.
- Antagonize people glowing red to make them Choleric (red blood)
- Seduce people glowing pink to make them Sanguine (pink blood)
- Intimidate people glowing blue to make them Melancholic (blue blood)
What you wear can influence whether or not someone develops special bloodlines. Choosing the right clothes might help unlock this potential.
