In the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Erik is a significant villain. He was formerly under Istvan Toth’s command, but since you killed Istvan at Trosky, Erik seeks revenge on numerous occasions in Kuttenberg. Whenever you manage to evade Erik, he will communicate his intentions through Kubyenka. Towards the end of The Italian Job quest, you will witness Kubyenka’s horse receiving an arrow, leading to Kubyenka being captured by Erik’s men.

The following day within the Civitas Pragensis mission, Kubyenka will arrive unharmed in Suchdol. When interrogating Kubyenka, he’ll disclose that Erik has issued a challenge to Henry for a duel. The choice is yours – accept the duel or ignore it. If you decide to take on the duel, prepare for a confrontation with Erik at Sigismund’s Camp. Keep in mind that due to the open-world limitations, you’ll have to defeat Erik using only the equipment you currently possess. This guide will provide suggestions on how to effortlessly overcome Erik in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, offering both an effective strategy and a quick trick as well.

Where to Find Erik for a Duel in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Erik will be expecting Henry at Sigismund’s Encampment, but rest assured, you don’t need to venture there alone. After you agree to the duel, simply converse with the guard stationed by Suchdol’s gate. It’s Henry who will set off towards Sigismund’s Camp independently, triggering a scene change.

At this stage, unrestricted exploration of the region will no longer be possible. This means you won’t be able to roam freely or acquire necessary items. It’s this limitation that makes the upcoming battle challenging. You’ll need to make the most of your current equipment and prepare thoroughly before venturing out from Suchdol.

Possible Preparations to Make Before the Fight with Erik in KCD2

As you’re unable to depart Suchdol to obtain superior equipment and crucial items for battle, it’s important to make the most of the resources at hand. Regrettably, the Blacksmith won’t be accessible in Suchdol at this juncture. However, you can still hone and mend your weapons by using the Sharpening Wheel near the Blacksmithing Stand. Furthermore, should you find yourself running low on healing potions such as Marigold, head to the Alchemy station and concoct a few of them. If your vitality isn’t fully restored, consume a Marigold and wait for it to replenish before engaging in combat.

Furthermore, ensure your armor remains in top shape if you carry an Armourer’s Kit. Utilize it to mend your armor, focusing particularly on the torso and headpiece. Apart from that, there’s not much else to prepare for this fight. When you’re set, converse with the guard to reach the dueling spot.

How to Defeat Erik in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In the battle against Erik in KCD2, a change in strategy is advisable compared to regular fights within the game. Instead of adopting an aggressive and overpowering style against opponents, it’s more effective to employ a defensive approach in this confrontation. Erik presents a formidable challenge and delivers precise strikes. Additionally, he counterattacks almost every attack launched at him and can retaliate with a Master Strike. Therefore, the optimal strategy for this fight is to use a Master strike against him, rather than being on the receiving end of his Master Strike.

During this entire battle, it’s crucial to remain defensive and adapt your attacking area in a way that counteracts his. If his weapon is on the left, position yourself to the right and anticipate his swing. As soon as he attacks, retaliate swiftly from the opposite direction with a Weapon Strike, aiming to catch him off guard.

Throughout the entire battle, I solely relied on the Weapon Strike. For the majority of the time, he failed to land a single blow against me. Yet, there was an unexpected twist – he began to escalate his attacks rapidly during our encounter, a move that could easily take you unawares. If by chance you get struck by one of his attacks, swiftly switch to blocking to ensure you don’t get hit again.

As a gamer, when I found myself in a tough fight, taking hits left and right with half my health depleted because his attacks were packing quite a punch, I learned the hard way that keeping an eagle eye on his weapon was crucial. To avoid getting pummeled, I’d switch up my attack zone opposite of each weapon strike he landed. After every successful hit, I’d make it a point to keep moving backward or sideways just enough to give myself room to reposition and adjust my attacking zone.

Simply, rinse and repeat this technique until a cutscene begins and you will defeat Erik.

Keep in mind that this battle could last approximately 10-13 minutes if you play defensively and employ the Master Strike technique.

Remember, it might take around 10 to 13 minutes for this fight when you’re playing cautiously and using Master Strike.

Keep your cool while engaging in combat and aim for the Master Strike instead of rushing things. You could attempt to strike from above, but be mindful as there’s a possibility he might counterattack unexpectedly.

Cheese Method to Defeat Erik in KCD2

It seems there’s another strategy for defeating Erik, one that involves using a hand cannon. We haven’t tried it ourselves, but many players have confirmed its effectiveness. To employ this strategy, you should load a hand cannon before engaging in battle with Erik. Prior to leaving Suchdol for the fight, ensure your gun is loaded with lead shot. During the encounter, take a lap around the area to create some distance between yourself and Erik. Once you’ve done that, aim at Erik and ignite the gunpowder to fire him.

If you strike Erik precisely, the cutscene will begin immediately, concluding the battle. While I’m unsure about its validity, feel free to experiment with this approach if you’re interested.
