Dao Lord Boss Location

Okay, so I finally found the Dao Lord! It’s at the very end of the Unbound Cavern campaign, which popped up for me while I was doing the ‘Accident’ main story quest in Chapter 2. Basically, after I got done selling off all my treasure basins and dealing with the town officials, I had to finish that Unbound Cavern campaign to move forward with the main story. It’s a bit of a roadblock if you don’t know about it!

Dao Lord Boss Fight Walkthrough

Dao Lord’s attacks often cause Blindness, which narrows your vision and makes it harder to keep your target focused on. If you become blinded, be extra careful when dodging the boss’s attacks.

The Dao Lord starts its attack with a spinning move. It briefly stands still, then rapidly spins around, sweeping its weapon multiple times, and concludes with a powerful head slam.

Because the attacks come at a consistent pace, you can block them all by pressing the parry button with the same timing between each one. Just remember there’s a small pause before the final headbutt attack.

Sometimes, Dao Lord will only do the last part of this attack – the spin and headbutt – using a movement similar to how he starts the complete attack.

Okay, so as a player, I’ve learned that when the Dao Lord starts pulling its spear back, you really need to brace yourself – it’s about to rush forward with a super fast attack! The trick is, the further away you are when it does that, the easier it is to block or parry the strike. Basically, create some distance!

One of the Dao Lord’s most threatening attacks starts with wide arm movements, followed by a quick series of forward thrusts that deal repeated damage. The attack ends with a strong, final stab. You can avoid damage by either blocking or dodging through each hit.

Dao Lord uses two main attacks: a quick, double-angled slash, and a sweeping blow. Both attacks require precise timing to parry, but are definitely achievable with some practice.

From a distance, the boss will launch three sets of projectiles towards you. Players who attack from afar should be careful, but skillfully timing a parry on each projectile can deal significant Qi damage to the boss.

Phase 2

When you defeat the Dao Lord, it will break apart into three smaller enemies, each with its own weapon. While none of them are particularly strong on their own, they can become a problem if they attack you simultaneously. A good strategy is to try and create distance between them by moving away.

The Hammer and Dagger-wielding Dao Lords use red attacks. The Hammer charges up before leaping at you with a powerful slam; time your parry right before impact to create an opening for a counterattack.

The Dagger Dao Lord will quickly attack with his spear, but you can block his attack and immediately strike back.

These three enemies will dig underground and briefly surface to attack you with projectiles. When they emerge, quickly shoot them with an arrow to stun them and stop their attack. They’ll repeat this process several times.

Focus on defeating the three enemies individually, one after another, and you should be able to get through this part of the fight. Although facing three at once might seem difficult, their attacks are weaker now compared to the beginning.
