Once you finish the first chapter of Where Winds Meet and depart from Qinghe, you’ll unlock Kaifeng, a brand-new region to discover. This new area includes fresh quests, hidden treasures, and challenging World Bosses, such as the Twin Lions.
The Twin Lions battle in Gracetown pits the Young Wanderer against a lively pair performing a classic lion dance – think impressive pillar work and dazzling fireworks! If you’re struggling with this boss, we’ve got all the tips you need.
Twin Lions Boss Location

You can find the Twin Lions in Gracetown, which is in the southeastern area of Kaifeng. Head south from the North Gracetown Boundary Stone, and if you follow the path until you see a lion dance performance, you’ll be prompted to battle.
Twin Lions Boss Fight Walkthrough
The Twin Lions are currently a very challenging boss fight. They’re tough because their attacks deal a lot of damage and their movements are hard to predict. The boss subtly shifts position during each attack, which makes it difficult to time parries and dodges correctly.
The Twin Lions will often use fireworks as part of their attacks. One common attack involves them slashing diagonally while launching a burst of fireworks, which hits a wide area. While you can block this attack, it’s very hard to react to because it happens so quickly.
Sometimes, the Twin Lions will jump up and backwards before launching a firework bomb at you. If you see them jump, prepare to deflect the bomb with a parry – doing so will charge your Qi gauge.
Enemies will often straighten up before attacking with a downward strike, a common move. This attack is relatively easy to block because it has a noticeable start-up. The Twin Lions also frequently perform a fast head slam immediately followed by a leg sweep. If the head slam connects, repeatedly press the block button to avoid the leg sweep.
The Twin Lions have two powerful gold attacks. Their first attack is a fast dash that can launch you into the air if it connects. While it deals a lot of damage, it’s manageable to avoid with practice and good timing.
During their second gold attack, the boss will start by creating pillars around the arena and then climb onto them. They’ll then dive towards you, and the only way to avoid getting hit is to dodge at the last moment. If a pillar is in their path, the boss will land on it. Quickly run to that pillar and press the indicated button to knock them off, which will inflict significant damage and leave them vulnerable for a short time.
Occasionally, the input box might not show up. If this happens, simply step back and be careful not to send any further requests, as it’s likely a technical issue.
The Twin Lions use pillars to attack again, climbing them before diving towards you. You can dodge this attack just like the golden version, or time your parry perfectly to block it at the very last moment.
The Twin Lions have a single red attack: they sweep, then follow up with an uppercut. Block the uppercut – the second part of the attack – to create an opening for your own counterattack.
Sometimes, the Twin Lions will move to the middle of the fighting area and begin shooting fireworks everywhere. The usual strategy is to shoot a fire arrow at their head, but it’s often too quick to aim and fire before the fireworks explode. If you can’t get a shot off in time, just focus on dodging the fireworks.
Phase 2
After you reduce the boss’s health to zero for the first time, the battle moves into phase two. This phase is similar to the first, but the Twin Lions’ attacks will be noticeably quicker and deal more damage. Also, the boss’s attack patterns will become harder to read, with subtle changes and extra movements before and during each strike.
The firework attack includes two bombs, one right after the other, so be ready to defend against both of them.
During this stage, the boss gains a new attack where it spins and fires fireworks. You can use the ability Meridian Touch to stop this attack, but it’s tricky to land successfully while dodging the fireworks, particularly if you’re near the boss when it begins.
This boss is a real challenge, and can be frustrating due to the lengthy intro before each try. Take your time and figure out which attacks you can block and which you should roll away from. If you’re really stuck, don’t hesitate to lower the difficulty or enable Assist Deflection – it’s a tough fight, and we understand if you need help!
