Starting a new career in Football Manager 26 can feel overwhelming. There are a lot of messages and tasks to handle, and it takes time to get used to the updated interface. Plus, it doesn’t quite feel realistic that a manager would be responsible for everything at a club.
Football Manager 26 lets you assign tasks to your staff, which is a really helpful feature you should set up early on. This guide will show you exactly where to find the staff delegation menu and how to use it effectively.
Where To Find The Delegate Staff Menu In Football Manager 26
To find the staff delegation menu in FM 26, use the following steps:
- Click on the Club tab at the top.
- Click Staff to bring up a pop-up window.
- Click the Responsibilities tile, which is the bottom right one.
- Switch from Overview to Delegation.
The Overview section lets you check how many roles each staff member – including you – currently has. However, you’ll actually make any changes to those roles in the Delegation section.
How To Delegate Staff Responsibilities In Football Manager 26
The Delegation menu is organized by different parts of managing your club. For now, don’t worry about the Board section – you probably won’t have much control there yet.
Managing media is straightforward. Your manager will initially handle all media-related tasks. You can then assign these tasks to staff members by using the ‘Delegate’ buttons (the purple ones). Alternatively, you can directly select a staff member’s name to assign the task to them.
You could, for instance, designate a Director of Football to handle press conferences for new players.
Make sure to press Confirm! Otherwise, these changes won’t be saved.
For other options, be sure to scroll down – they’re easy to overlook. Some sections have a lot of details to review.
Checking How Many Responsibilities You Have?
Just above the menu, you’ll find options labeled ‘X Under Control’ and ‘X Delegated to Staff’. You can also return to the ‘Overview’ tab to check how many tasks each staff member is handling and see the details of those tasks.
This can help you see if responsibilities are balanced among the entire staff department.
Which Responsibilities Should You Delegate In Football Manager 26?
Ultimately, there’s no perfect level of delegation in the game – it really comes down to personal preference and how experienced you are. Long-time players might prefer to micromanage every detail, while others might enjoy taking on the role of a Director of Football and letting their assistant manager handle most of the team’s decisions.
Staff Delegation For New Football Manager Players
Football Manager 26 can be challenging, even for experienced players, due to its updated interface and tactical system. When you’re learning, it’s best to concentrate on mastering a few key areas at a time and leave the rest for later.
You could concentrate solely on game-day strategies, choosing the players, and motivating the team, and leave all player scouting and signing to someone else.
Realistic Staff Delegation In Football Manager 26
For a truly engaging game experience, it’s important to have a realistic management system, and that means managers shouldn’t control every single detail. In real-world soccer, managers rarely do! The amount of control players have over different areas will vary depending on the club they’re managing. Larger clubs generally have the resources to hire more staff, which allows them to share responsibilities and ease the workload on the manager.
These days, many clubs view managers less as essential leaders and more as replaceable coaches. This trend is growing more frequent.
