Underground Caves are particularly rewarding places to visit, filled with useful resources like Quartz and rare plants for crafting powerful items. They also hide valuable treasures, though getting inside can be tricky.

How To Unblock Cave Entrances in StarRupture

As you explore the Arcadia-7 map, you’ll notice small, circular icons marking entrances to Underground Caves. However, these entrances are usually covered by thick vines. Players often find this frustrating, as common methods like throwing grenades or using the Extractor simply don’t clear the vines.

The good news is, fixing this is actually quite easy. Players just need to wait for a Rupture, which will destroy all plant life – including vines – on the planet, and then they can start exploring. This also means caves are only accessible for a short time after a Rupture Wave passes.

The plants in Arcadia-7 regrow incredibly quickly, so players need to be mindful of how long they spend in the caves. If you stay underground too long, vines will rapidly block your exit, trapping you!

The time limit for exploring caves also exists, but you can work around it. Build a small base with a Habitat close to a cave and wait for a Rupture event to occur in that area. Once the surface temperature is safe – as indicated by the GAL system – you can exit your base and enter the nearby cave.
