In the world of Mario Kart, tricks have become a standard feature that was initially introduced in Mario Kart Wii. These tricks are actions players can perform after jumping off a ramp or small incline. Notably, the method for performing these tricks in Mario Kart World is similar to previous versions, but their impact on your speed has seen significant changes.
To execute tricks in Mario Kart World, players should press the designated button for drifting while they are airborne. However, it involves more than just that as Mario Kart World introduces a new feature where multiple tricks can be performed during a single jump – and the more tricks you manage to perform, the higher your skill level will be recognized.
What Do Tricks Do In Mario Kart World?
In the game known as Mario Kart World, tricks function similarly to how they did in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but with a unique twist. Unlike Mario Kart 8, where players could execute only one trick during each jump, Mario Kart World allows for multiple tricks while you’re airborne. Moreover, in Mario Kart World, the more tricks you perform, the more boost you generate, which becomes active as soon as you touch down.
In the realm of Mario Kart World, you’re free to execute tricks from any jump. There are no consequences if you excessively repeat the trick command in an attempt to enhance your landing boost.
By standard settings, you’ll automatically execute tricks when driving off ramps or objects that provide height (you can disable this feature). Jumping from a boost ramp allows for tricks as expected, but so does colliding with a Toad in the open world, sending your kart soaring into the air.
As you keep executing stunts while airborne, once you land again, you’ll outpace racers unaware of the secret mechanism in a fictional racing world reminiscent of “Mario Kart.
How To Do Tricks In Mario Kart World
To execute tricks in Mario Kart World, players should quickly tap the ‘R’ key while they’re airborne. It’s important not to hold down ‘R’, simply press it and release. Your character will then display a unique animation, with a ring appearing around them for a short while. Once the animation finishes, you can tap ‘R’ again to perform another trick, provided your character hasn’t touched the ground yet.
When you simultaneously keep a directional control pressed and press R for a trick in Mario Kart World, your character will either spin (left or right) or flip (up or down). In case you don’t press any input, your character will display a brief, distinctive action specific to them.
In simpler terms, it’s not possible to execute tricks while jumping normally or during a charge jump. Instead, you can only do tricks if you leap from an environmental obstacle. On the other hand, using a Feather item will propel your kart upwards for about three seconds, allowing you to dodge attacks, escape danger, or discover hidden locations.
