As a huge Battlefield fan, I’m getting so excited for the REDSEC Battle Royale mode dropping soon! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get it preloaded and downloaded before it actually launches, and it’s a little confusing. Hopefully, we’ll have clear instructions soon!
The REDSEC game mode launches in Battlefield 6 today, October 28th. This update comes after the game’s successful release earlier this month and lines up with the beginning of Season 1.

Can You Preload Battlefield 6 REDSEC?
You can’t download Battlefield 6’s REDSEC Battle Royale mode before it officially launches. You’ll have to wait until the full release to start the download.
This could create issues and annoy players, because many people worldwide will be downloading and trying to play at the same time, potentially causing long waits and slow download speeds.
Players who already bought and installed Battlefield 6 may not have to download as much when Season 1 and REDSEC launch. EA recently released a large update, and it’s likely this update already included most, if not all, of the files needed for the Battle Royale mode.
We don’t have a definitive answer just yet, and we’ll need to wait for the complete REDSEC release to get all the details.
How to Download Battlefield 6 REDSEC?
The Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 6, called REDSEC, isn’t available for download just yet. It will be released on all platforms later today, October 28th.
Look out for ‘Battlefield REDSEC’ on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation stores. It’s a free-to-play experience that will be available through its own separate app, but you’ll also likely be able to access it directly from within the main Battlefield 6 game.
