How to Easily Make Platinum in Crimson Desert

While you might need some Gold to start, Platinum is much more valuable and can quickly make you wealthy. One of the best ways to earn Platinum is by gathering it in the Crimson Desert, and we’ll guide you through the process below.

You can sell Platinum for 380 Silver Coins, making it a good item to trade with characters in the game. It’s also used in recipes to create strong weapons and items. We’ll show you where to find Platinum and the materials needed to craft it.

How to Get the Platinum Blueprint in Crimson Desert

  • Head to the Scholastone Institute in the southern area of Hernand. (This area is only accessible after Chapter 4).
  • Head inside the central building to access the library, where you can face the east (to the right after the main door).
  • Climb up the east wall to access the upper floor of the library, where you can find the Platinum Blueprint.
  • Pick up the Platinum Blueprint and examine it to learn the recipe. (You can safely discard or sell the recipe after).

How to Craft Platinum in Crimson Desert

You can create platinum by crafting it at the Witches’ huts, which you’ll first find in Chapter 5 within the Witch Woods of Hernand.

Talk to the Witch and choose “Craft Abyss Gear.” Then, press R2 (on PlayStation) or RT (on Xbox) to go to the “Special Items” section.

Material How to Get
Gold Bar x1 Pickpocket them from Demeniss Nobles at the Demeniss Wildlife Park.
Brimstone x4 Dropped by Hexe Brimstoneback Crabs in the Brimstone Springs, north of Demeniss in the Smoking Lands.
Mercury x3 Acquired from the Mercury Lake at Smoking Lands Hearth, north of Demeniss, through shooting a Forst Charged Shot with the bow.
Holy Water x2 Purchased from Confessionals at Churches.

Below, you’ll find the exact methods and locations of obtaining each ingredient in more detail.

How to Get Gold Bars

  • Equip a Mask (purchased from Back Alley Shops).
  • Head to the Demeniss Wildlife Park, which is just a short walk south of the City of Demeniss.
  • You’ll find Demeniss Nobles here, who are all wearing rabbit masks.
  • Light and equip the lantern to reveal loot that the Nobles are carrying, and some should have Gold Bars (shown in the image above).
  • Run into the noble and hold Square/X to pickpocket them and steal the Gold Bars. (If the Gold Bar is not stolen, it’s because they have multiple items in their inventory.)

How to Get Brimstone

  • Head north of Demeniss toward the Deadfire Mountain, where you will come across the Brimstone Springs.
  • From here, you can locate large Hexe Brimstoneback Crabs, which are disguised as terrain.
  • Simply hit the rocks that have water shooting from the tops to make them explode, and they will drop 2+ Brimstone.
  • You can even fast travel back to this location to respawn the Hexe Brimstoneback Crabs, as you need x4 Brimstone for every Platinum Bar.

How to Get Mercury

  • Head to the Smoking Lands Hearth in north Demeniss, shown on the map image above.
  • Here, you will find a pool of Mercury, but to grab it, you must first have Frost Lv 1 (which we have a guide on here).
  • Once you have Frost, equip it with the Right D-Pad button.
  • Now, purchase the “Charged Shot” and “Elemental Charged Shot” skills.
  • Aim your bow at the Mercury pool and hold L2 to fire an Ice Charged Shot into it, which will spawn Mercury to collect.
  • You need 3 pieces of Mercury per Platinum Bar, and you’ll get plenty from this pool.

How to Get Holy Water

  • Holy Water can be purchased from Confessionals, who are found at Churches across each region.
  • Hernand Town and the City of Demeniss are easy locations ot get to, and each of them will sell Holy Water for 3 Silver Coins.
  • You need a total of 2 for each Platinum Bar you wish to make.

Okay, so once I’ve gathered everything I need, I head back to a Witch to actually make the Platinum. Like we talked about, I can use it to craft some really cool weapons, but honestly? I might just sell it. You can get 380 Silver Coins for it, which is a nice little boost to my funds!
