In the context of Borderlands 4, Order Bunkers represent a fresh gameplay element. Unlike Ripper Drill Sites and their combat arenas, Order Bunkers function as mini-dungeons where players engage in intense battles against waves of Order soldiers. The ultimate goal is to secure valuable loot.
Opening Order Bunkers in Borderlands 4:
1. First, locate a Bunker on your map.
2. Approach the Bunker and interact with it by pressing the ‘E’ key or whatever key is designated for interaction in your game settings.
3. A cutscene will play, showing you how to open the Bunker. Normally, this involves locating a nearby switch or activator that must be pressed.
4. Once you’ve activated the necessary mechanism, the Bunker door should open, allowing you to enter and claim your rewards!
How to Get Inside Order Bunkers in Borderlands 4
To access a bunker, you’ll first have to complete One Fell Swoop, the fifth principal mission of the Borderlands 4 campaign. In this mission, you’ll assault an Order facility in the Fadefields with the goal of discovering more about Indomitus Sol’s bioweapon. Upon completing the mission, you’ll gain the ability to utilize Locust Canisters, a necessary item for unlocking Order Bunkers.
You can usually find a Locust Canister dispenser close to the entrance of an Order Bunker, but it may not be immediately apparent where they are. Sometimes, the dispenser is right in front of the bunker’s entrance, while other times you might need to search the surrounding area to locate it.
For instance, in Borderlands 4, the Tipping Point Order Bunker’s dispenser can be located in a control room situated close to the bunker’s entrance door. To get there, you should ascend through a large ventilation shaft. On the other hand, the Blacklime Bunker’s dispenser is perched on a rock positioned over the gap from the main entryway itself.
As an enthusiastic participant, I’d suggest heading towards a nearby dispenser to snag a Locust Canister. Once in hand, I’d aim and hurl it at the imposing bunker door with all my might. The impact should strip off the armor plating. Moments later, the main bunker door will magically swing open on its own. Quite an exciting moment, isn’t it?
You can’t hold Locust Canisters forever. If the ticking gets faster, that means it’s about to blow.
What’s Inside Order Bunkers?
To clarify, Order Bunkers function as compact dungeons with relatively simple floor plans. They consist of multiple battle arenas connected by hallways and traversal zones. Completing your journey through these spaces will lead you to a boss that is exclusive to the specific Order Bunker you’re exploring.
Each Order Bunker features a unique design, and they come with different sub-objectives that might make one seem more complicated than others. However, defeating the bunker bosses is similar to farming other bosses in Borderlands 4, but if you exit the bunker, you’ll need to go through it all over again.
