How to Equip Artifacts in Stalker 2

As a seasoned Stalker 2 survivor with a knack for navigating the treacherous anomalous fields, I can confidently say that hunting down those elusive artifacts is a thrill like no other. The ‘There and Back Again’ mission took me on yet another exciting adventure, this time leading me to the discovery of a Slug Artifact.

In the heart-pounding main mission of Stalker 2 titled ‘There and Back Again‘, I was fortunate enough to come across a vital tool: a Detector. This life-saver was left behind by the late scientist, Petro Yerokin, among the cold remnants of death. Once in possession of this Detector, my next task was to follow its signal to locate the nearby anomaly. Guess what? It was conveniently situated just outside the facility’s walls. What a relief!

Now, you should employ the recently gained Detector to locate an Artifact in the peculiar field, which is where that gooey green substance pools near the barrel leaning on its side. This task might appear straightforward, but identifying the precise location of the Artifact can be challenging if you’re not familiar with it.

To locate the unusual magnetic field, keep an eye on the yellow warning symbol on your compass. As you approach the detector, it will begin to emit a series of beeps. If you move to the left side of the barrel, the artifact (Slug) should appear over one of the radioactive spots. A prompt will appear when you’re close, but remember to steer clear of the ooze once you pick it up to avoid ongoing radiation damage.

In case you unintentionally swap your gear and aren’t sure how to reactivate the detector, simply press and hold the left shoulder button (on consoles), and then the Detector will move to the bottom-left (indicated by the left directional button).

Once you’ve obtained the Artifact, move it to your inventory by doing so. To access it, press the down button on your controller (Xbox) or the I key (PC), then gently move the Slug artifact into the empty slot above Stalker 2‘s Quick Access bar by dragging and dropping it. If you don’t find the Equipment section open, simply tap the left control stick (Xbox) or press Q (PC).

The Slug Artifact offers Weak Shielding for Radio Waves, meaning it can counteract harmful radiation emitted by other Artifacts when they’re nearby.
