Borderlands 4 includes several legendary weapons that are nods to popular culture, and Aegon’s Dream is a prime example. The name will immediately resonate with fans of George R.R. Martin’s *A Song of Ice and Fire* series, and like the books and TV show it inspired, this weapon is quite powerful.
Defeating bosses for farming in *Borderlands 4* is generally simple. However, if you’re aiming to get the Aegon’s Dream item, you’ll need to repeatedly fight a particular enemy found in one of the game’s starting areas. Here’s how to do it.
Borderlands 4: Aegon’s Dream Drop Location
Aegon’s Dream is a powerful item you can specifically farm from Horace, the spymaster of Indomitus Sol. You’ll find Horace at a location called Horace’s Oversight in the Fadefields, which is part of the main story in Borderlands 4. Once you complete the mission in that area, Horace’s location will appear as a boss marker on your map.
Similar to other boss areas, you’ll need to travel directly to where Horace is. While you can rush straight to the fight, taking the time to defeat enemies along the way is generally a good idea if you’re not in a rush.

We suggest using a Maliwan Shock Shotgun with the Beam Cutter attachment for fighting Horace. This weapon fires a powerful, Y-shaped laser that bounces off walls and can hit enemies multiple times. With just three shots from the Beam Cutter, you may even be able to completely deplete Horace’s shields, depending on your character’s strength.
After you’ve broken through Horace’s shields, switch to an Incendiary or Kinetic weapon and keep shooting him in the face until he’s defeated. There’s a small chance he’ll drop a rare, powerful item when he dies. To increase your chances of getting one, play the game on a higher difficulty level.
What Does Aegon’s Dream Do?
The Aegon’s Dream is a fast-firing Vladof assault rifle with a special ‘Prophetic’ perk. This perk lets it shoot both fire and ice bullets, making it effective against enemies with either health or armor. However, it’s not very useful against shielded opponents.
Aegon’s Dream weapon fires both freezing (Cryo) and burning (Incendiary) shots. If you equip its Double Barrel attachment, both types of damage will be applied at the same time. The weapon’s description, “Finish the song!”, is a playful nod to George R.R. Martin’s unfinished *A Song of Ice and Fire* series, a running joke at the time of *Borderlands 4*’s release.
