I’m really excited about Moonlighter 2, and from what I’ve seen, making money is key to enjoying the game. Seriously, figuring out how to rake in the cash quickly is going to be a huge help in getting further and unlocking everything the game has to offer. I’m already looking for tips on how to make money fast!
Increase A Relic’s Quality
Besides how rare an item is, its quality is also important in Moonlighter 2 for determining how much money you can make selling it. Better quality items have a higher base sale price, meaning Will earns more gold.
You’ll find relics after finishing any battle that shows a chest symbol. If you plan your route well, you can quickly collect a lot of these rewards and fill up your backpack. Remember, you can always use the Pendant to return home early if your backpack is full or you need to heal.
Keep Valuable/Rare Relics For Multiple Runs
Some powerful items have special effects or drawbacks that activate when certain conditions are met, and these can happen repeatedly. This is most common with very rare items, but if an item’s ability can be triggered often and make it – or nearby items – stronger, it’s worth using it in multiple game sessions to maximize its power.
You don’t have to sell everything in your backpack. You can store items with K33P3R, your shop assistant, to make more room for finding and upgrading relics. Having a good mix of relics in your backpack and stored with K33P3R will help you have really profitable sales.
Boost Earnings With Strategic Furniture Placement
As you play Moonlighter 2, you’ll meet different vendors who can help Will improve his shop and make more money. One of these is The Countess, who sells decorations like Display Cases and Furniture. Some items, such as the Prestige Display Case, even increase the selling price of the goods you put on display.
As I’m playing, I can randomly find Furniture and Display Cases just by exploring. I always watch out for those recipe encounters – they show up as a scroll icon on the map – while I’m planning my route to the boss. They’re super helpful, so I try not to miss them!
Increase Your Backpack Capacity ASAP
Generally, having more items means you can earn more money. Because of this, investing your earnings into expanding your inventory is a smart move – it’ll help you make money much faster. Of all the early upgrades you can buy, increasing your storage space is one of the most valuable.
Once you meet Sliver during your adventure, you’ll be able to buy extra space for your backpack from him. Look for question mark symbols on the map – these indicate random encounters where you might find Sliver and be able to invite him back to your base.
Invest in Research and Services
Two vendors, K33P3R and Tomo, can significantly increase your profits. K33P3R focuses on improving your merchant level, offering things like high-paying customers and extra Perkmeter slots for sale boosts. Tomo takes a different approach, helping you find more valuable relics (like Deluxe and higher rarity ones) and increasing your chances of finding chests in pairs during your runs.
To maximize your earnings, focus on both improving your shop and increasing your chances of finding valuable items. These two things work together to help you earn more gold each day. Make sure to check back often to take advantage of these beneficial relationships.
Use The Shop Perkmeter
In Moonlighter, the Perkmeter rewards players for successful sales during special sale days. It fills up with each good customer reaction – mainly when you make a ‘Cheap’ or ‘Perfect’ sale. When the Perkmeter is full, you can choose a Perk from a selection of three, and these Perks often help you earn more money.
You can boost the Perkmeter by buying upgrades through K33P3R, and some of these let you earn extra perks on the same day. If you start combining perks with rare or high-quality items – especially those in special displays – you could potentially make tens of thousands of gold from just one sale.
