The Alloyed Collective expansion for Risk of Rain 2 isn’t just about the main boss at the end of Solutional Haunt. There’s a hidden, secret boss that appears if you find and use specific items in certain locations. Many players consider this secret boss to be the true final boss of the DLC – it’s the most difficult and rewarding fight the game has to offer so far. If you want to unlock the new endings and everything else the Alloyed Collective expansion has to offer, here’s how to challenge this true final boss.
How to Fight the True Final Boss of Risk of Rain 2 Alloyed Collective
To begin, you’ll need to reach Solutional Haunt and defeat Solus Wing, which can be a challenging fight. Solus Wing is a particularly tough boss, and players using close-combat characters, like the Mercenary, might find it especially difficult.
Just a reminder: to get to Solus Wing, you’ll need to find and power up an Access Node on the third world. Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to free Drifter from her cell. Once you reach Conduit Canyon, save at least one Sentry Key – you’ll need it later.
After defeating Solus Wing, you’ll receive an item called the Encrypted Cerebellum. Be sure to collect it, then go through the portal located in Solus Wing’s eye. This will take you to a kind of marketplace. On the left side, you’ll find CHEF at a small cooking area. Talk to CHEF, and he’ll offer to combine items for you. You can give him the Encrypted Cerebellum along with any of the following items:
- Sentry Key
- Prison Matrix
- Empathy Cores
- Encrusted Key
CHEF will combine the two items to create an Exposed Cerebellum. Then, give the Cerebellum to the large Solus unit located near CHEF’s kitchenette. This will open a Decrypted Portal, allowing you to proceed to the boss fight against Solus Heart.
Solus Heart is a tough opponent who can quickly defeat you with his attacks. Having a well-built character will significantly improve your chances of winning. If you manage to beat him, he’ll make an offer, and whether you accept or decline, you’ll unlock a new character skin – but only for the original survivors in the game.
