Although the Wandering Wight is not required, battling and overcoming him to obtain his spirit for transformation is highly recommended in Black Myth: Wukong, as this special power will make your subsequent journey less challenging. Here’s how you can ready yourself for the fight against the Wandering Wight and emerge victorious.
How To Prepare For The Wandering Wight’s Boss Fight in Black Myth: Wukong
Before you take on the Wandering Wight, you need to make sure you’re properly geared up. You won’t have a lot of options early on, but there are a few things you can do to give yourself a better chance against the Wight.
Reach Level 10 to 15
Although you can defeat the Wandering Wight initially, it’s strongly advised that you don’t engage until your character has reached levels between 10 and 15. Doing so will significantly boost your character’s health, damage capabilities, and overall resilience in battle.
Invest in Your Stats
As you level up, you can earn Sparks which can be spent in the Self-Advance tab of the menu to improve your health and stamina. You can also unlock new abilities to boost your character’s strength and make it harder for the Wandering Wight to hit you.
1. To inflict greater damage on the boss with your standard attacks, consider upgrading them. Additionally, allocating points towards the Immobilize skill in the Self-Advance menu could boost the power of your spells, aiding you in effortlessly defeating the Wight.

With everything prepared, make your way towards the “Forest of Wolves” on Black Wind Mountain. That’s where you’ll encounter the Wight, who roams back and forth in front of a tunnel entrance near the “Outside the Forest” rest shrine.
Because the Wight is continuously circling the open area, you can approach from behind and launch a powerful Strike to kick off the battle aggressively. As he’s still processing your arrival, you can strike him with a Concentrated Strikes attack to stun him for several moments. This gives an excellent chance to follow up with a light attack sequence, which creates space for another Concentrated Strike.
The Roaming Revenant boasts a substantial health pool and is capable of dishing out hefty damage whether in close quarters or from afar. Its main attacks consist of powerful ground slams, spinning sweeps, and a swift, high jump stomp that could easily eliminate you if you don’t dodge them at the opportune moment. It keeps you on your toes with its unpredictable attack patterns, ranging from simple two-footed slams to three-stomp sequences, interspersed with arm swings or jump kicks followed by a jumping stomp.
In a nutshell, Wight’s deadliest moves are the “ground pound” and the “palm blast.” When you notice him waving his hands and raising one above his head, be prepared to move or evade swiftly, as he’ll either create a large area of effect explosion by slamming his fist into the ground, or he’ll fire an energy beam from his hand that can significantly reduce your health.
Overcoming the Wight involves understanding its attack patterns and responding appropriately. Once you identify the signs of his attacks, you’ll find it simple to evade them and discover opportunities for counterattacks. When you see the Wight getting ready for a strong area attack, casting the Freezing Spell could be a smart tactic. This spell will freeze the Wight solid, enabling you to deliver a series of light attacks and prevent him from finishing his assault. Additionally, utilizing the Wight’s off-balance state allows for powerful charged strikes that can send it crashing to the ground, offering a chance to inflict more damage while it’s unable to defend itself.
Monitor your energy reserves throughout the battle. If they start to dwindle, move back to a safe spot to regain strength. Utilize opportunities where the Wight isn’t close enough to attack, to restore your health.
Wandering Wight Rewards in Black Myth: Wukong
To defeat the Wandering Wight, you’ll be rewarded with approximately 1049 Experience Points (XP), an ample amount to level up and acquire another Spark for personal growth. Additionally, you’ll receive the Cat’s Eye Beads Curio, Blood of the Iron Bull crafting material, three Yarn, and a substantial quantity of Will.
In addition to departing physically, the Wight will also impart his ethereal presence, resembling a shimmering purple mist. To summon the Wandering Wight Specter, initially interact with the Ancient Master in the Bamboo Grove and enhance your Gourd within the game Black Myth: Wukong. If you haven’t accomplished this task, don’t fret; once the Gourd is upgraded, the Spirit will automatically appear in your Shrine menu.
