How to Find and Catch the Purple Emperor in Heartopia

If you’ve been exploring Heartopia, you’ve likely seen lots of insects! Catching bugs is a peaceful activity – you can wander around, enjoy the scenery, and earn Gold at the same time. There are many different insects to discover, and you’ll even need some of them to finish certain Life Log quests.

Okay, so the Purple Emperor bug? That one gave me a headache at first! You need to find it on Day 12 in Heartopia, and let me tell you, it’s not a simple catch. Heartopia is massive, and this bug isn’t just anywhere. It only shows up in specific spots, and to make it even harder, it also needs certain weather conditions to spawn. It can be super frustrating when you’re running around aimlessly, but trust me, once you learn where to look and when to be there, it gets way easier. I’m going to walk you through exactly how I finally caught mine in Heartopia.

Purple Emperor Location in Heartopia

On Day 12 of the New Life Log, players need to catch a Purple Emperor. The game requires this Purple Emperor to be at least a two-star rarity.

Before you try to find it, you need to reach level three in your Insect Catching hobby. You can’t catch a Purple Emperor until then. If you haven’t reached level three yet, just keep practicing by catching the insects you already know – that’s the fastest way to improve your skill.

The Purple Emperor butterfly appears only in the Flower Field and Whale Mountain when it’s sunny or rainbow-colored, and only between noon and midnight. To start catching it, travel quickly to one of these locations using a bus stop.

Hey, if I ever forget what time it is in the game, I just tap that little smartwatch icon up top. It shows me the current time right away, super handy!
