How to Find and Evolve Gible in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Garchomp is a very strong Dragon-type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, comparable to powerful Pokémon like Dragonite and Salamence. Fortunately, players can obtain Garchomp relatively early in the game by catching its pre-evolution, Gible.

This guide will show you exactly where to find Gible, how to catch it, the quickest way to evolve it all the way to Garchomp, and how to get the item needed for Garchomp to Mega Evolve. Luckily, it’s a pretty simple process in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Here’s how it works.

Where to Find Gible in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Gible Location

You can find them by digging in Wild Zone 8 of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. This area becomes available after you finish the main mission, “Chase that Mysterious Pokemon”.

Wild Zone 8 is a sandy area dotted with small holes and mounds of mud. These holes are usually home to , the form before , but occasionally a Gible will appear instead.

You can tell the difference by taking a quick look inside. If you see a tiny red spot with a white ring around it, it’s a Drilbur. But if you notice a small, blue bump sticking out, it’s a Gible.

If you don’t find a Gible right away, leave the area or break its attention, then quickly travel back to Wild Zone 8. This will bring you back to the entrance and reset everything – including the spots where Gible might appear.

Please don’t attack the Drilbur. The holes in the ground are used by both Drilbur and Gible, and if you defeat either one, that spot won’t produce any more Pokémon for a while.

How to Get Garchomp

Gible first evolves into Gabite at level 24, and then into Garchomp at level 48. If you caught your Gible in Wild Zone 8, it will already be level 24, so you can evolve it into Gabite right away.

Okay, so you’ve got Gabite and you’re aiming for the awesome Garchomp? Get ready to grind a little! You’ll need to level it up quite a bit – either by battling with it regularly, or using those EXP Candies or Rare Candies to give it a boost. Once it hits level 48, you’ll finally get the option to evolve it into Garchomp!

Wild Zone 20 in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is home to powerful Alpha Pokemon, including all the fully-evolved species found in the game’s Pokedex. This means you can search for and catch an Alpha Garchomp there. However, you’ll only be able to access this zone after completing the main story, and even then, finding Alpha Garchomp will require dedication and time.

How to Mega Evolve Garchomp

To make Garchomp Mega Evolve, you’ll need the Garchompite Mega Stone. You can buy it at the Stone Emporium for 70,000 Poke Dollars, but only after you finish Main Mission 10: The Secrets of Mega Evolution – that’s when you first get the Mega Ring.

You can find the Stone Emporium on Vernal Avenue, just south of Prism Tower. Once you get the Garchompite, have your Garchomp hold onto it. With the Garchompite equipped, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve Garchomp during battles whenever the Mega Meter is full – just press the Right Stick!
