In the game Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, the inhabitants of Avalon refer to a religious figure simply as the All-Mother. Although she may be known by different names, it is essentially the same deity being referred to. During challenging times such as the return of the Red Plague, many look up to her for protection and guidance in their prayers.
Apart from prayers, numerous individuals present gifts at her sanctuaries, aspiring to receive a tangible token from the All-Mother. However, it’s not about offering just anything to these shrines. Each one is distinctive and has its own specific requirements for offerings. If gratitude isn’t expressed appropriately, blessings may not be bestowed upon you.
How To Make An Offering To The First All-Mother’s Shrine
The initial sanctuary dedicated to the All-Mother is situated on a seashore at the south-eastern tip of the region known as the ‘Horns Of The South’. It’s just southeast of the East Gate and the Blood Lake. You can get there by walking down either path from the top of the hill until you reach the beach.
Outside the sanctuary, you’ll find two common folk who are not open to conversation; instead, they pose a threat, which could lead to their defeat and the acquisition of some fundamental loot, similar to the Ragged Peasant’s armor set.
The Sanctuary of the Great Mother is nestled within the remains of an ancient structure. However, unlike most sanctuaries, it does not provide a list of acceptable offerings or specify the blessings it bestows.
To discover the items required for the offering, venture beyond the ruins, scrutinize the nearby camp, and retrieve the Letter To Aleous from the deceased nobleman’s possessions.

As I delve into this missive, it uncovers the essential trio – Sage, a Feather, and a Rose – that are crucial for the creation of this unique gift.
- For the Sage, you can find it all over the Horns Of The South, often near cliffs and trees, and in a few specific locations, such as around the outside of the Horns Of The South Keep.
- For the Feather, you might have picked some up while in the dungeon, but if not, go southeast along the beach past the All-Mother Shrine and find the Flooded Mines on the side of the cliff. Inside, you’ll find a lot of Peasant and Corpse Eater enemies, including a miniboss one, and several Feathers can be found in crates and on the bodies of the Peasants wielding bows. You can also buy some at Osbryht’s shop in the Keeper’s Garrison.
- For the Rose, the easiest place to find them is by the ruins surrounding the Keeper’s Garrison, the Ruined Market Square east of the keep, and in the left corner of the outside wall of the keep, next to a drain leading out of the cliff.
To get the Summon Corpse Eater spell, you need to triumph over the Corpse Eater mini-boss and search the treasure chests in the last chamber of the Flooded Mines.
Once you have gathered a single item from each of the three groups, return to the shrine by the seashore known as the All-Mother’s, engage with it, and then choose the option “Offer an Item”.
As a reward, you’ll get The All-Mother’s Mercy Amulet initially. This item can either be sold for 200 Gold or used to revive you with full health if worn when you die. However, it should be noted that the amulet will be destroyed after use.
Avoid utilizing any of the triple amulets called All-Mother’s Mercy; otherwise, you risk being denied access to acquiring the authentic All-Mother’s Amulet. The latter provides a perpetual boost of 35 Max Health once activated.
How To Make An Offering To The Second All-Mother’s Shrine

The second sanctuary dedicated to the Great Mother deity is situated within the Horns of the South area, nestled right smack in the heart of some ancient ruins. These ruins are located northeast of the deserted village.
Leave the fortress behind and take the primary path eastward. Continue following this road as it veers north, avoiding the Ruined Market Square. Keep going until you spot the Hunter’s Camp. After that, head northeast along the same road, passing by the Archspire and the campsite associated with the side quest “I See A Darkness”. Then, adjust your direction back to north, scale the rocks, and the All-Mother’s Shrine will be nestled in the center of the ruins close to your current location.
Engage with the sanctuary, and you’ll initially encounter a spirit, initiating the side quest known as “Best Friends Forever”. Completing this mission is essential as it prevents you from continuing any activities with the sanctuary until it’s done.
How To Complete Best Friends Forever

Head towards the shrine’s rear side and retrieve a shovel to excavate Kendall’s skull hidden there. After finding it, make your way to Berg who can be spotted fishing at the village situated beyond the keep. Upon talking to him, you will have three choices: two for acquiring more details and one to advance the storyline.
- A questioning dialogue choice that requires seven points in Perception.
- A more aggressive choice that requires eight points in Strength.
- The choice to give him Kendall’s Skull, which will progress the quest.
This conversation presents another decision for you: either letting Bern take Kendall’s skull or choosing not to give him the skull. Regardless of your choice, you will advance the quest by completing a step, after which you can return to the All-Mother’s Shrine and have one more chat with Kendall.
How To Find The Second Shrine’s Offerings

You may now proceed to offer your tribute at the Altar of the Great Mother as usual, but be aware that the components for this specific ritual are distinct from the ones used previously: you will need a Mandrake, a Raspberry, and some Rosemary.
- To get a Mandrake, you’ll need to return to the beach where you washed up on the Horns Of The South, then either swim across the water or use the nearby rocks and ruins to cross over to the small island off the shore behind. Speak to Ò Cuinn Cinnamonsage enough to access his shop, and he sells 12 Mandrakes for four Gold each.
- Raspberries can be found on bushes north of the Horns Of The South Keep, such as along the large wall nearby, outside houses at the Abandoned Village northeast of the Archspire, and the Forgotten Cemetery.
- Rosemary can be found all over the Horns Of The South and is often growing next to rocks, cliffs, outside homes, and near the keep. It can also be stolen or found in crates and barrels at the keep, and it’s also sold by Ò Cuinn Cinnamonsage.
Should you have discovered the Blood Cave hidden beneath Blood Lake and successfully vanquished Mallory, you will also come across three Mandrakes on a desk in the second-story inner chamber where the Hollow Druid resides.
After acquiring all necessary items, revisit the Second Holy Shrine of the Mother Goddess and present an offering to receive the Mercy Amulet, a vital component of the True Mother’s Amulet. Wearing this amulet will restore you to full health upon your demise, but it comes at the cost of self-destruction.
How To Make An Offering To The Third All-Mother’s Shrine

The third sanctuary dedicated to the Great Mother deity is nestled in the northern region, often referred to as the “Horns Of The South.” It’s hidden amidst some ancient ruins, approximately northwest of the bridge that serves as a gateway to the Ancient Cromlech.
From the eastern side of South Keep’s Horns, travel northwards past the Gallows and the Forgotten Graveyard until you come to a fork in the road. Take the eastward path again until you encounter another fork in the road, then continue north towards the bridge until you spot an NPC named Broc. Cross the bridge, and the ruins you seek are just a short walk northeast from there.
As a gamer, if I were to rummage through the Priestess standing before the shrine, I’d discover not just her armor and cape, but also a note she carries. This note offers vital information on how to handle those amulets, and it suggests that I should bring them to the All-Mother’s Temple.

For the third sanctuary, the offerings are more accessible compared to the initial two, and they specifically demand Burdock Root, a Bone, and Monster’s Blood.
- Burdock Root can be found outside houses all over the Horn Of The South, such as at the Abandoned Village, near cliffs and trees, and growing beneath ruins.
- Bones can be obtained by defeating any type of skeletal variant of Undead, and tons of them can be found at the Forgotten Cemetery that’s north of the keep.
- Monster’s Blood can be obtained by defeating almost any type of monster enemy, such as Corpse Eaters, Drowners, Grindylows, and Redcaps. Drowners are the easiest enemy to get from, as you can find multiple Drowners along the beaches on the southern and western edges of the Horns Of The South.
1. Take the items you require and head towards the shrine of the All-Mother.
2. At the shrine, make an offering in order to obtain the third All-Mother’s Mercy Amulet needed for your final amulet.
How To Get The True All-Mother’s Amulet
As a devoted admirer, I’d be delighted to share my personal journey to find the True All-Mother’s Amulet:
First, you must embark on your quest to the All-Mother’s Temple nestled in the Horn of the South. The temple can be found hidden in the northeastern corner of this region, a secret spot waiting to be discovered.
To reach it, I recommend heading northward past the bridge that stands tall near the Abandoned Village. Beyond that, you’ll find yourself in the heart of Dál Riata village, where the amulet is hidden and ready to be claimed by the worthy.
The village of Dál Riata initially appears inaccessible, but there’s a way to gain entry: by advancing through the main quest of Shadow Of The Horns until access is granted organically. Once you converse with Mabyn and establish your worth among the people of Dál Riata, you will then be permitted to enter the All-Mother’s Temple.
If you enter the village without sufficiently advancing the main storyline, trying to access the All-Mother’s Temple would be seen as trespassing. Consequently, you’d need to combat your way out of the area securely and won’t be granted access to the temple at this point.
Upon entering the temple, you may choose to view a cutscene or proceed directly to the room on your right, which houses a shrine and a berserker hurling rocks. Approach the shrine while in possession of all three All-Mother’s Mercy Amulets. When you interact with the shrine, these amulets will merge into a single True All-Mother’s Mercy Amulet.
This amulet maintains the same balance: if it revives you at full health upon your death, it will be destroyed in the process. However, this particular one offers an added benefit – it grants you an additional 35 points of health permanently each time it is used to revive you. Given its advantages, it’s advisable to utilize this amulet as soon as possible, regardless of your character build.
