It’s amazing how much content is already available in this game. Even though it’s not fully released, there are hundreds of hours of things to do and enjoy.
Because the game world is so vast, it’s easy to feel lost when you first start playing. Finding specific items can be especially challenging, as it’s unclear where to even begin your search.
Azure Kelp is a rare item in Hytale. You’ll need it to craft the Teleporter, which becomes available later in the game. Let’s find out where to find this Kelp and explore how the Teleporter can transform your gameplay!
Azure Kelp Forest Biome

To craft the teleporter, you need two Azure Kelp. You can find this in the Azure Forest, a smaller area within the larger Emerald Groves biome.
Okay, so this spot is super easy to find – it shows up bright blue on your map, and you’ll see a bunch of little shallow pools of water. The best part? It’s usually really close to where you start the game, so I can grab some Kelp really early on, which is awesome!
Kelp grows in pools of water, with just a small portion visible above the surface. You’ll be able to identify it by its faint blue shimmer. Although it’s not very common, you don’t need much kelp, so finding a limited amount isn’t a big concern.
Azure Kelp Boreal Biome
If you’re having trouble locating a blue forest biome, or if one hasn’t appeared close by, you can try the Boreal Biome instead. Underneath the large snowy areas, you’ll discover frozen tunnels with a much greater amount of Azure Kelp.
This location is a bit further out, but it’s the best place to collect a large amount of materials for building teleporters, so gather as much as you can carry while you’re here.
How to Craft Teleporters
To build a teleporter, you’ll first need to make an Arcanist’s Workbench. You can craft this on any Tier 2 Workbench using these materials:
- 10x Thorium Ingots
- 30x Linen Scraps
- 20x Essence of the Void
After completing that step, put down the workbench and then choose the teleporter. Here’s what you’ll need to make two teleporters:
- 8x Azure Log
- 2x Azure Kelp
- 10x General Stone
You can find Azure Logs in the same forest area where you discovered Azure Kelp. Just chop down a tree with blue leaves to get a decent amount of them.
Initially, you can only place 2 teleporters. But as you unlock and submit memories at the Forgotten Temple, you’ll gain access to more, which will make getting around much easier. Unlocking 200 memories will give you the maximum of 8 teleporters.
