How To Find & Defeat Whiteclad Noble in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned adventurer who’s seen my fair share of battles and beasts, I can tell you that the Whiteclad Noble is no walk in the park. This cunning serpent-human hybrid knows how to keep you on your toes with his swift moves and powerful attacks. But fear not, for with a keen eye, quick reflexes, and a bit of strategy, you’ll conquer this formidable foe!

In the opening chapter of “Black Myth: Wukong,” you’ll encounter the Whiteclad Noble – a unique being with both human and serpentine traits, dressed in a white robe. Despite not officially holding the titles of Yaoguai King or Chief, the Whiteclad Noble is known as one of the toughest early-game bosses you may battle against.

Preparing to face the formidable Whiteclad Noble, a dual-health bar boss with swift agility and water-bending abilities, will test your combat prowess, particularly during the early stages of the game when resources are scarce. Here’s how you can prepare for this two-phase battle and emerge victorious:

How To Prepare For The Whiteclad Noble Boss Fight in Black Myth: Wukong

In Chapter 1, it’s inevitable that you’ll encounter the Whiteclad Noble while traversing the Black Wind Mountain. He is stationed in the Bamboo Grove region, positioned at the conclusion of the Marsh of White Mist Keeper’s Shrine. This location is not far from where you initially meet Shen Monkey, a non-player character (NPC) who assists in upgrading your Gourd in Black Myth: Wukong.

Prior to engaging with this formidable foe, it’s crucial that you’re fully prepared. Here are some suggestions to help you gear up for your battle against the Whiteclad Noble:

Invest In The Immobilize Spell

Because Whiteclad Noble moves swiftly, it’s crucial to utilize the “Immobilize” control spell that freezes him in place, allowing you to land some attacks. To maximize its effectiveness, allocate as many Sparks as possible into the Immobilize spell. Additionally, think about investing points in the Stagnation Mysticism, as it can prolong the duration of your immobilizing spell, granting you extra time to attack Whiteclad Noble.

Upgrade Your Stances

Prior to engaging in combat with Whiteclad Noble, don’t forget to enhance your Pillar Stance. This move could prove very beneficial against this boss’ water-based assaults as it enables you to stand atop your staff, escaping damage from the Noble’s ground-targeting attacks. Furthermore, from this position, you can unleash potent overhead strikes.

As a gamer, I’ve found the Smash Stance to be quite handy. It allows me to power up my heavy strikes even while on the move, making it easier to catch up to the elusive Whiteclad Noble and position myself for a crucial hit.

Get Spirits And Transformations

Ideally, by the point when you meet the Whiteclad Noble, it’s expected that you’ve already acquired either the Wandering Wight or Guangmou’s Spirits, and have also obtained a Transformation spell after defeating Guangzhi.

As a devoted fan, I’ve come to appreciate the unique strengths of Wandering Wight’s Spirit and Guangmou’s Spirit. The former is a powerhouse in heavy attacks, capable of leveling opponents with ease. On the other hand, the latter offers an intriguing ability to summon venomous snakes, adding a sinister edge to combat. Despite their high Qi costs, these spirits prove invaluable in dealing significant damage to the Whiteclad Noble. Over time, they relentlessly whittle down his health bars.

The “Red Tides Transformation” spell enables you to metamorphose into Guangzhi, a Wolf Guai, who inflicts fatal fire damage on enemies with each strike. Additionally, this transformation bestows upon you an extra health reserve, enhancing your resilience in combat against the Whiteclad Noble.

How To Beat Whiteclad Noble In Black Myth: Wukong

In the battle against Whiteclad Noble, who possesses two forms – one half human and the other half serpent – this encounter is split into two separate stages. Each stage features unique attack strategies and alterations in behavior, requiring you to adjust your gameplan on the fly. Below is a brief overview of what to anticipate from Whiteclad Noble during each phase, along with tips for defeating him efficiently.

Whiteclad Noble Phase 1

The battle starts as Whiteclad Noble soars into the air and stabs his spear towards you. His primary moves in Phase 1 consist of swift spear jabs, powerful charged spear attacks, and controlling water. He often employs his spear to generate a strong area-of-effect water sweep, and you’ll have to be agile with the Pillar Stance to dodge effectively and minimize damage.

The problem is, Whiteclad Noble rapidly moves around the arena and can strike from any direction. To counter this, you need to stay alert and be prepared to dodge attacks at a moment’s notice. Keep a close eye on his quick movements to anticipate where he will strike next. He might even use his spear to launch himself at you, either by sticking it into the ground and swinging off it or by simply swinging it towards you, so be on guard.

When the perfect opportunity arises, I’ll freeze Whiteclad Noble in his tracks, allowing me to pummel him mercilessly until I can amass enough energy for a heavy attack to deplete his health reserves. With precise timing and nimble reactions, I’ll evade most of his assaults, ultimately swinging the battle in my favor.

Whiteclad Noble Phase 2

Once you deplete his health meter, a cutscene initiates the second phase of the battle, during which the Whiteclad Noble metamorphoses into his serpent form. This change not only increases his agility and threat level but also grants him an entirely fresh health bar.

In Phase 2, the Whiteclad Noble maintains several of his past attack styles, yet there are significant adjustments. His water projectiles now seem to zero in on you, although they’re launched less frequently compared to before. He continues to employ his jump and charge move, but instead of just running, he coils like a snake to propel himself higher. Essentially, he has become more formidable and his attacks stretch far, making it challenging to evade them.

Although it’s beneficial to continue employing the Pillar Stance, Phase 2 is when you should deploy your Spirits and Red Tides enchantment. Utilize the Immobilize spell in conjunction with the Wandering Wight Spirit for a combo that could potentially drain up to 30% of the Whiteclad Noble’s health. Seize the chance to cast the Red Tide spell when it presents itself, as this will transform you and deal maximum damage to defeat the boss.
